1 ELIST - European Learning Innovation for Sustainable Training Transnational Training II on Entrepreneurial Capacity Building 15 th 19 th February 2016 Athens, GREECE DESCRIPTION Transnational Training II within Elist - European Learning Innovation for Sustainable Training context is a 5 days Capacity Building/Mentoring Course, in which 70 participants, from 7 countries, will have the opportunity to improve their entrepreneurial attitudes/behaviors, knowledge, skills and build innovation capabilities in order to have a positive impact on local development in a sustainable way, considering the environment, the economy and the social context of their communities. This training is asset-based and focuses on the sustainability and the development of a dynamic and growth generating entrepreneurial ecosystem in the agricultural sector, in which multiple stakeholders play a role in facilitating entrepreneurship at international, national, regional and local levels. Youth Trainers acting as Mentors and young entrepreneurs acting as Mentees, are welcome to participate as they can learn from each other and create mutually beneficial and self-sustaining relationships generating jobs, and fostering innovation and poverty reduction through the empowerment of marginalized members of the agricultural community. The sessions will be mixed, formal, non-formal and practical. Special emphasis will be placed on experiential and peer-learning. AIM The primary aims of this training are: a) to provide an overview for a systemic approach to capacity building in entrepreneurship which will facilitate mentors to inspire and enable individuals to start and to grow entrepreneurial ventures in the agricultural sector, and b) to enhance the competences of young entrepreneurs, living in rural areas, to take active participation in the development of their local communities and in the change towards a more sustainable society. WHEN AND WHERE The training course will take place in a suburb of Athens Greece, near the southern coast. Arrival day of participants: Monday 15 th of February 2016 Departure day of participants: Friday 19 th of February 2016 ELIST TT2 1

2 Participants will be hosted in London Hotel, Athens and will be sharing rooms in groups of 2 PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS Apply if you are: - Curious to explore and implement the idea of entrepreneurial capacity building in a rural area of your country; - Motivated to learn new tools, methods and ideas to be used in the empowerment of aspiring or existing entrepreneurs of your community; - Interested in the improvement of entrepreneurial behaviors, knowledge, skills and innovation capabilities of individuals in rural areas of your country; - Ready to actively participate in the whole training and to contribute; - Able to work and communicate in English; - Able to use the acquired skills in future activities. This course is for participants from: Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey. COSTS This project has been funded with the support of the Erasmus+ Program for participants from: Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey. Formal presentation of the topic 2. Good practice presentation/testimonial 3. 5 AGENDA Project relates idea for sustainable development and the possibility of sustainably using environment as a resource for youth enterprises in rural areas. It promotes ideas for young people to establish environment-based enterprises in local communities eco-tourism; bio-agriculture; community development projects; eco-villages etc. The methodology of the training course is conceived in ways that require active participation and exchange between participants. It is based on the main principles of experiential learning and peer learning as well as formal and non-formal education. OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING: To develop participants knowledge, skills and competence on capacity building and sustainability for rural development, To motivate and support mentors in their new role as capacity enablers to take active participation in the development of their local communities, To support mentors/capacity builders implement a user-centered design for entrepreneurship, taking into consideration trainees abilities, organizational and social context, To present mentoring good practice principles, To promote knowledge on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial soft skills, To support capacity builders in engaging stakeholders for community empowerment. 8 Many community strengths are not immediately obvious, and it takes some creativity to discover what skills and abilities are available in the community, and how they might be used. These include the skills and talents of individuals, the resources available and offered by local associations/institutions, culture and heritage of the community. Among these skills, leadership is a key dimension of community strengthening as it helps community members to set directions and priorities, to organize into groups, and to put action on-the-ground to utilize all available resources. 13:00-14:00 Lunch Workshop on leadership development methodology regarding entrepreneurial activities Management, cooperation, decision making, selfempowerment STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT FOR COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT EVALUATION AND FINAL RESULTS Natasha Pentagioti, Dr. Maria Giannacourou Day 5 19/02/2016 Objectives: 1. To stimulate effective development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in rural communities 2. To assess the degree of learning of course participants Content: Multiple stakeholders play a role in facilitating entrepreneurship in rural populations. Among these, large and small firms, policymakers at national, regional and local levels, formal and informal educational institutions are included. A series of actions and approaches will be presented to facilitate commitment for the development of human capital and critical talent in order to facilitate entrepreneurial initiatives. 9 SPEAKERS CVs: Aimilia Markouizou-Gica, is an Educational and Clinical Psychologist. She has obtained a diploma in primary school teaching, a BA in Psychology and an MA in Psychology of Education from University of London. She is trained in systemic family and group therapy. Since 1997, she has been working in the center of therapy for depended individuals of Athens (KETHEA) in the clinical and prevention field. She has been developing educational and prevention packages for youngsters as well as educators. Aimilia has supervised and work closely with young volunteers in community and prevention. She offers counseling and psychotherapy to adolescents and young adults. She is also supervising educators and organizations. Andreas Stefanidis: BSc in Accounting & Economics, he is partially qualified Chartered Management Accountant from CIMA. He is the President of the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Young Entrepreneurs, the founder and president of the Academy of Entrepreneurship and the Head of Aephoria.net, a sustainable business incubator for sustainable business ideas. He has been teaching Financial, Managerial and Cost Accounting courses at the State University of New York and offering vocational seminars in Entrepreneurship and Management Accounting to young entrepreneurs in Greece and other EU countries. He has been working as a Project Manager in several EU co-funded projects. Dr. Jennifer Clarke is Capacity Building Programme Coordinator at the Bodossaki Foundation in Athens, and is currently responsible for implementing a comprehensive capacity building programme for Greek NGOs which have received funding from the EEA Grants NGO programme We Are All Citizens, funded by Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. She has been involved in training over 200 NGOs across Greece, and was previously responsible for developing capacity building programmes for refugee and migrant organisations in the UK. Jennifer also has experience of managing NGO funding programmes on behalf of the European Commission in Brussels. She has published a number of academic articles and has co-edited a book on Greek civil society. Christiana Gardikioti, is the founder of Hamu Hellas Sprouts Ltd based at the Technology Park of Thessaly in Volos and the Manager of the Centre of Social Economy and the Business Development Manager of the Social Cooperative EDRA. Currently she is working towards the creation and successful operation of technologically supported agricultural, co-operative and cultural enterprising in southern Greece aiming for the social and financial development of deserted villages up in the Arcadian Mountains. She has work experience as French Immersion Teacher/Coordinator in the Elementary Schools of Saskatoon, Canada, Financial Planner for to the Investors Group Financial Services Wealth Management Firm in Canada, International Financial Consultant and Securities Trader for Merrill Lynch. Alessandro Carbone, Masters in Social Work, he has taught Social Work at the University in Varese (Italy) and has worked as a social worker with young and marginalized people. Since 1995 he has been offering continuous training to adults belonging to public and private organizations on social and health matters. He has participated in several EU projects as a project manager and he is active in the consulting field on EU programs as well as in continuous education for public authorities and private companies. 10 Sofia Makri is Cofounder of the Non-Profit Organization "aelia working life lab", which assists people in their professional life and mainly in the acquisition of soft skills, through educational and motivational activities. As an adult educator, the last 2,5 years, she designs and implements "aelia's" soft skills workshops. Currently she is the Project Manager of "Epinisia Eos", an initiative by "aelia" aiming to provide advisory and training support to the young people of twenty four selected Greek islands, in order to successfully guide them to stay in, or return to their birthplace and initiate a business activity at the island. Also she has almost 10 years experience working as a Freelancer Advisor on EU Project Management, mainly in Public Administration, in the fields of (a) primary and secondary education (b) lifelong learning activities and (c) student support for their access to labour market. Dr. Maria Giannacourou is an Organizational Psychologist and Human Factors Specialist, currently a Member of the Adjunct Faculty at the Hellenic Open University teaching management courses in undergraduate and graduate level. She has extensive professional experience in business consulting and has been a Senior Researcher and Project Manager in various national and international research projects. She has published a number of academic articles and she is the co-author of the book Modern Ergonomics). Duncan Chamberlain, (BSc in Geography and Political Science; Post Graduate Certificate in Education) is the founder & Managing Director of Bridging to the Future (BtF), based in Birmingham, England. Duncan is an experienced business and educational leader and manager who has grown his own business as well as creating a further fourteen (14) businesses. Duncan has designed, tested and diffused successful models of job creation across Europe with the SLAM! methodology an especially important part of this work. Duncan is an active member of the Institute of Directors, two local Chambers of Commerce, Social Enterprise West Midlands and Social Enterprise UK. He has presented and delivered speeches on entreprenuerism, localism and engaging disadvantaged individuals to diverse audiences including MDs, MPs, Local Council members, Head Teachers, business owners and charity trustees. Duncan s career includes a management career at Whitbread plc and as Vice Principal of a leading independent school in England. Evita Kolokouri, is currently a freelance in program coordination and has co-developed the first research and design consultancy in Greece for family friendly working environments. Evita has experience in Project Management, Impact Programs Design, Partnership Engagement, Communications in a variety of social and creative projects and fields. She has worked as Program Coordinator for Ashoka Greece, the world's largest network of more than 3,000 leading social entrepreneurs and has co-developed Products for Fundraising Proposals in Philanthropy Organizations in order to finance the launch strategy of Ashoka in Greece. She has designed and implemented Programs for Youth Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation IT02-KA This project has been funded with support from the European Commission.
