4 Goals & Objectives Current State: Enrollment: growth from 223 (1998) to over 500 (2016) Faculty: growth from 13 (1998) to 40 (2016) Currently managing growth within limitations of existing space Existing learning environment does not support contemporary learning pedagogies. Goals: Upgrade mechanical, electrical, information technology and lighting systems modernizing Parrington Hall to current University facility educational standards. Create learning environments that support collaboration, active learning, flexibility, and faculty innovation. Create space that fosters student engagement with peers, faculty and staff, and builds academic community. Reflect the school s commitment to sustainability and stewardship for one of oldest, most iconic buildings on Seattle campus. Create a building that will be useful well into the future, accommodating emerging campus standards for density.

5 Project Scope Renovate the Parrington Hall interior: Reconfigure space to meet the Evans School's program needs for flexible learning and office space. Demolition of existing general assignment classrooms. Replace with flexible classrooms that support active learning, creating more open staff and graduate student offices, and providing more collaboration areas across the building. Includes significant IT and MEPF systems upgrades to modernize systems to better provide for consistent user comfort and flexibility.

7 Integrated Design Build Belief that Together Everyone Achieves More. University desires an active role in project definition, design and construction decisions. Positively impact cost, schedule, building performance and quality, and maximize value by incorporating value added incentive items to the base program. 9 Project Governance Governance Structure, Timely Decision, Project Advancement Responsible Party High level administrator responsible for ensuring that overall institutional objectives are met. Project Executive Committee All major project decisions, recommendations, and trade-offs within the established parameters of the project (site, budget, schedule, financing) Project Management Team (PMT) Day-to-day project management decisions, such as change order reviews, and minor design changes, will be made by the Project Management Team, consisting of project managers from the University, the architecture firms, and the construction management company Senior Management Team (SMT) A separate team consisting of principals from the architecture and construction company and the project director will meet quarterly to ensure that the team is working and communicating effectively and is being supported appropriately. Project Working Teams These subgroups lead the development of various parts of the design. These teams make recommendations to the PMT and the Project Executive Committee.
