2 Saint Mary s Sobey School of Business Executive MBA Trade Mission to Warsaw, Poland Canada, Poland 3: Pernille Fischer Boulter, Emily Konrath, Ana Maria Torres Saint Mary s University Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency/The Government of Canada Dates (start/end) December 2015 March 2016 Polish- Canadian Chamber of Commerce The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and Saint Mary s University Sobey School of Business Executive EMBA Program coordinated a four (4) day, multi-sector business to business trade mission for a group of Nova Scotia exporters to Warsaw, Poland, in March The trade initiative consisted of four days in market with targeted business to business meetings, as well as market briefing meetings with relevant business associations in Warsaw. The main objective of this initiative was to provide each participating Sobey School of Business EMBA delegate with an opportunity to assess the possibilities for the companies they represent in the Warsaw market by meeting a number of prequalified potential customers, partners, agents, distributors and other key industry contacts and organizations in the region (leads), as determined by the company. Kisserup was selected as the successful bidder by Saint Mary s University in providing a comprehensive business matchmaking program. For each selected company represented by the EMBA students on the mission, Kisserup and the participating EMBA Students developed a Statement of Work (SOW) in order to determine the requested client criteria for qualified business meetings in market. Based upon this information, qualified leads were researched by Kisserup where each company was provided with a list of leads for their review and feedback. 3 In addition to providing matchmaking services for this program, Kisserup designed and facilitated a Doing Business in Poland session with the delegates, coordinated the shipment of samples from Canada to Poland pre-mission, and will facilitate in-market briefings for the delegates in order to adequately prepare each organization for the Polish market. and on budget. 5 The objective of this sub-project was to allow Colombian SMEs in the agribusiness sector to gain access to Canadian buyers, utilizing the existing FTA between Canada and Colombia. This project enabled Colombian SMEs to understand what Canadian buyers are looking for, enabling the SMES to build a value proposition for their products, allowed them to learn what if any voluntary certifications are required for market entry in Canada and what volumes are required to meet customer demands. The ultimate goal for the trade mission was to establish and document sales for the Colombian SMEs, it is expected that sales will be secured in the next 6 months with a value of up to CAD$800,000. Outcomes of this project included promotion of trade relations between Colombia and Canada in adherence to the existing FTA, developing commercial relationships between small and medium-sized Colombian exporters and Canadian buyers, where Canadian buyers gained a better understanding of products produced by Colombian SMEs. Further, Colombian SMEs gained an increased awareness of what is required by Canadian buyers in order to successfully complete commercial transactions such as legislative requirements, volunteer requirements and buyer requirements. Kisserup has fully met the contractual obligations and completed all the project elements and deliverables, as per the contract. This project was completed on time and on budget. The purpose was to complete in-market research of target export markets and commodities, and provide business matchmaking and logistical support to assist in building a solid business program for New Brunswick companies. The target markets were Dominica Republic, Honduras, Costa Rica, Florida and Puerto Rico and the target sectors were valued added food, construction and peat. and on budget with delegates successfully securing orders with Canadian firms. 7 Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum (CREF) 2015 USA, Canada, Caribbean 2: Pernille Fischer Boulter, Emily Konrath Maritimes Energy Association Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)/The Government of Canada Dates (start/end) August November 2015 Kisserup provided trade consulting services and B2B and B2G matchmaking for the 2015 Atlantic Canada Mission to the CREF in Miami, Florida. Kisserup provided research to identify leads, matchmaking and on-site trade show support for a group of Atlantic Canadian private sector companies attending CREF 2015 for business and export development. This trade mission was organized by the Maritimes Energy Association and supported through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and the Nova Scotia Department of Energy. As a result of a systematic prospecting campaign, 358 prospects were researched. These prospects resulted in over 146 qualified meetings arranged for the delegates. and on budget with delegates successfully securing orders in several Caribbean markets. 8 Western Europe Education Mission for SMEs 2015 EU, Canada 3: Pernille Fischer Boulter, Emily Konrath, John Bell Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI)/Canadian Government Dates (start/end) January - May 2015 As a part of this mission, New Exporters traveled to Ghent, Belgium in April 2015 to partake in a two-day educational export program made possible by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI). The educational program was designed and facilitated by Kisserup International Trade Roots. Prior to the mission, Kisserup conducted a Confirmation of Expectations with each New Exporter, one-on-one consultations were held in person, via Skype, telephone and with each participant. Their objectives for the mission were detailed to manage and optimize expectations. The New Exporters were all asked to review and submit signed Confirmation of Expectations to Kisserup where the Educational Program was subsequently designed and tailored to meet all the specific objectives and expectations of the New Exporters participating in the mission. Participants attended an educational seminar, where a full day of guest speakers spoke on a variety of topics related to exporting and doing business in the region. The mission delegates also travelled to the Brussels Seafood Export Global Show, attended meetings with EU based Canadian Trade Commissioners, as well as participated in educational industry tours within Ghent, in order to better understand the local preferences in market. Kisserup fully met the contractual obligations and completed all the project elements and deliverables, as per the contract. This project was completed on time and on budget. 10 Centre for Women in Business International Women s Day Conference 2015 Canada, CARICOM Proportion carried out by legal entity (%) 35% 3: Pernille Fischer Boulter, Emily Konrath, Carlos Lozano Centre for Women in Business Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)/The Government of Canada Dates (start/end) January - March 2015 The Centre for Women in Business were seeking to plan and execute an International Women s Conference in connection with International Women s Day in March 2015, with B2B meetings for an incoming Caribbean delegation and Nova Scotia companies with an interest in exporting to and/or partnering with Caribbean companies. This Conference was conducted in order to further develop Caribbean partnerships opportunities and to broaden the business development efforts to the membership of the Centre for Women in Business. and on budget with delegates successfully securing orders in several Caribbean markets. 11 Doing Business in Vietnam Trade, Promotion & Investment Forum Canada, Vietnam 4: Pernille Fischer Boulter, Maria Calcano, Sara Mader, Emily Konrath Embassy of Vietnam in Canada Embassy of Vietnam in Canada Dates (start/end) July - October 2014 Kisserup was contracted by the Embassy of Vietnam in Canada to design and facilitate an incoming bilateral trade forum. The Embassy of Vietnam in Canada hosted a breakfast session at The Westin Hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Trade Forum was opened by the Premier of Nova Scotia, The Honourable Stephen McNeil, Mr. Mike Savage, Mayor of Halifax Regional Municipality, and the Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Canada. After the morning session, one on one meetings were held with the Commercial Ambassador of Vietnam and Nova Scotian companies which provided the organizations with the opportunity to learn how their business with Vietnam can develop and grow. and on budget with several Canadian businesses exploring their business opportunities in Vietnam and successfully securing orders in the market. (NSBI) & Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)/Government of Canada Dates (start/end) September - December 2014 Phaff Export Marketing In 2014, Kisserup led B2B and B2G matchmaking and logistics activities for an Atlantic Canada Opportunity Agency and NSBI led mission to the BENELUX. The mission was supported through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and NSBI and sought to provide each participating company with an opportunity to assess the possibilities in the BENELUX market by meeting pre-qualified potential customers, partners, agents, distributors and other key industry contacts and organizations in the region, as determined by the company. Additionally, this mission included a Europe Educational Mission for New Exporters commencing in Amsterdam, the Netherlands with an In-Market Educational Session. and on budget with delegates successfully securing orders in several European markets. (NSBI) Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)/The Government of Canada Dates (start/end) August - November 2014 Kisserup was contracted by Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) to provide trade consulting services and B2B and B2G matchmaking services, and coordinate the logistics and tours of Nova Scotian companies for the in-coming delegation from Chile. The delegation included DFATD Trade Commissioner Ms. Renee Plouffe and representatives from the energy sector, who were in Nova Scotia for the ICOE 2015 conference. and on budget with delegates successfully securing orders with Canadian firms. 14 Developing and implementing a business-linkaging programme targeting Bangladeshi IT& ITES Information Services (BASIS) and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DDCI) EU, Bangladesh 4: Pernille Fischer Boulter, Paula Lunn, Keith Boulter, Maria Calcano International Trade Centre International Trade Centre Dates (start/end) August April 2015 Kisserup, along with The United Nations International Trade Centre, BASIS, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) & Bangladesh NEXT hosted the NTF III Bangladesh IT B2B event in Copenhagen, Denmark on November 19, Kisserup was contracted to provide design, logistics, and arrange for Danish companies within the IT sector to meet with Bangladeshi firms and attend the one day event in Denmark. The event focused on services, apps, and software, and aimed to expose Danish companies to the IT market in Bangladesh. The matchmaking event was part of the NTF III programme, where the objective was to enhance export competitiveness of the IT & ITES sector in Bangladesh by implementing a business-linkaging programme targeting the Danish IT & ITES market for the benefit of Bangladeshi IT& ITES companies. Further, the project aimed at generating new export revenues for the sector. Kisserup was successful in mobilizing Danish companies to participate in the event, in person or via Skype conference calls, of which many met with multiple Bangladeshi companies that met their outsourcing needs. (NSBI) Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI)/Government of Canada Dates (start/end) August -December 2014 Kisserup was contracted by Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) to provide trade consulting services, B2B and B2G matchmaking services, and logistic services for a trade mission to Trinidad and Tobago in November, Kisserup provided its services for organizations in a diverse range of sectors. During this trade mission, participants were able to participate in a presentation by the Canadian High Commission in Trinidad, and to meet and mingle with Senior Trade Commissioners and the High Commissioner. Kisserup fully met the contractual obligations and completed all the project elements and deliverables, as per the contract. This project was completed on time and on budget with delegates successfully securing orders in several Caribbean markets. 17 Institutional Strengthening of PROEXPORT and capacity building of Colombian SMEs to Successfully Export Colombia, Canada Proportion carried out by legal entity 100% (%) 3: Pernille Fischer Boulter, Maria Calcano, Melissa Campbell The Conference Board of Canada & PROEXPORT Colombia Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development - Canada-Americas Trade-related Technical Assistance Program (CATRTA) Dates (start/end) April June 2014 Kisserup was contracted by the Conference Board of Canada under the Canada-Americas Trade Related Technical Assistance (CATRTA) Program for the subproject Building the Capacity of PROEXPORT and Colombian SMEs to Successfully Export to Canada. The Trade Promotion and Capacity Building sub-project was launched as a pilot sub-project through PROEXPORT Colombia, the Colombian Government Trade Promotion Organization. This trade promotion subproject was developed and implemented in collaboration with PROEXPORT to further encourage knowledge transfer, capacity building and strengthen the export promotion expertise for PROEXPORT staff and Colombian SMEs to maximize the possibility of successful export promotion to the Canadian market under the Canada-Colombia Free Trade Agreement (CCFTA). The sub-project maximized the outcome by taking a demand-driven approach to trade promotion and development by engaging a six (6) stage process. The sub-project included consultations with key stakeholders, in-market export rallies across Colombia, market research and technical assistances related to export development plans, opportunity identification resulting in a B2B trade mission for Colombian SMEs to Canada. The purpose of the Trade Promotion and Capacity Building sub-project was to strengthen institutional capacity of PROEXPORT and Colombian SMEs in order to provide PROEXPORT staff with the knowledge and skills required to increase Colombian SME market access to Canada under the existing FTA and increase 16 P a g e Examples of Project Experience for Kisserup International Trade Roots

18 Colombia s innovation and commercialization opportunities within selected service and manufacturing sectors (ICT (Animations, software (SW), industrial (industrial shoes, packaging), cosmetics (natural products), auto-parts, agro-products (processed fruits & vegetables, salsas) and garments (uniforms, swimwear, active/sport wear)). Accordingly, Kisserup designed and implemented the sub-project by promoting and enhancing the international export efforts of Colombian SMEs by providing an export promotion educational training program, international matchmaking opportunities and market access that supported export development to Canada and built capacity in PROEXPORT staff and the export readiness for Colombian companies, with a particular focus on SMEs and women entrepreneurs. and on budget. Consistent feedback from the project management team overwhelmingly complimented the Kisserup team on achieving and exceeding deliverables and the export revenues generated for Colombian SMEs to date exceed CAN $9.8 million. Therefore, the purpose was to prepare the business community in Greenland to be able to match the specific procurement requirements posed by the energy based sectors in a number of areas. The aim was to gradually develop skills on the basis of the specific needs of the enterprises. Furthermore, the objective was to inform the business community in Greenland about the specific opportunities available to suppliers in the sectors and provide tools to exploit these opportunities, for example through establishing strategic partnerships or consortia with other operators. The four overall aspects which the consulting services provided were opportunity analysis, partnerships development (PPP), tender identification and establishment of contracts, qualifications and competences for competitive suppliers. The Pacific Islands Trade & Invest is the leading regional trade and investment promotion agency for the Pacific Islands. The network is an agency of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, which is based in Fiji with offices in Auckland, Beijing, Sydney, Tokyo and Geneva. The PT&I offices are regularly reviewed as directed by their respective establishment agreements to provide renewed direction and purpose of their roles and responsibilities. Through an extensive evaluation process, the objective of the review was to determine the medium to long term effectiveness of the role, functions and performance of the PT&I network, measured against its objectives, in meeting the needs of its SME clients in the Pacific Island countries. More specifically, the review aimed to determine the extent to which the PT&I network has addressed those needs effectively. The review included an assessment of the current funding arrangements of PT&I and making recommendations on the appropriate levels of funding needed in the medium to long term. The scope of the review was wide ranging, carried out through a participatory approach by engaging with a broad range of stakeholders in all Forum Island countries that included government representatives, relevant regional agencies, development partners and private sector. The project was funded through a grant from the Caribbean Aid for Trade and Regional Integration Trust Fund (CARTFund), administered by the Caribbean Development Bank and financed by the UK Department for International Development (DFID). As part of stakeholder consultations, Kisserup worked with CEDA, the OECS and other regional and national business support organizations to develop useful resources for Caribbean-based manufacturers and exporters of specialty foods. The Trade Guide for the Specialty Food Sector: Exporting to the United States of America outlined the US market for specialty foods, the preparations needed to become ready to export to this market, as well as labeling and food safety requirements for the US. Further, this report detailed the supply chain, the means of transporting products to the US, as well as, the distribution, financing, and legalities of exporting to the US. The Trade Guide for Specialty Food Sector: Exporting to Europe, similar to the US guide, gave a detailed description of the EU market, with focus on specialty foods, detailing entering the European market with its labeling and food safety requirements. Transporting and distributing products to the EU was researched and documented, as well as financing options. The primary objectives of these workshops were to provide an overview on exporting both goods and services under the CARIFORUM EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), providing participants with the basic principles of exporting to the EU, with a specific focus on pre-selected export markets. For this project, Kisserup created an online questionnaire to compile data on the immediate needs of IPAs; future educational and training requirements; and to identify areas of market research, investment marketing and targeting required for assistance that will allow Caribbean Export to better focus on servicing the needs of IPAs. The results indicated that there was a need for an integrated and collaborative training approach encompassing the full need of current IPAs. This assessment needs was presented in a report that included findings supported by tables and graphics relevant to the variable analysed. and on budget.
