3 INTRODUCTION The Grenada Bureau of Standards is a body corporate established under the authority of Standards Act #6 of The Bureau was set up to promote and encourage the development and maintenance of standards for goods, services, practices and processes in Grenada. Standards are developed in a wide variety of fields by Technical Committees comprised of experts in each field. Committees operate on a consensus principle and the public is given the opportunity to examine and comment on all drafts before they are adopted as National Standards. The Bureau of Standards is an affiliate of Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). It is also the national Contact Point for Codex Alimentarius, an active member of Pan American Standards Commission (COPANT) and a member of the Caribbean Regional Organization for Standards and Quality (CROSQ). The Bureau has a cooperative relationship with ASTM international. This publication contains a list of draft standards and the stage of development for the period January to June The work programme is published twice each year in January and July. 1
