1 GUIDELINE DAC DESCRIPTION DAC 2018 Data Analysis Competition (DAC) as part of Pekan Raya Statistika 2018 event, is a competition of student-level data analysis in Southeast Asia that aiming students to explore and sharpen their ability in the field of data analysis that are expected can be applied in daily activities. The ability to analyze data, think critically and be able to solve the existing problems in the community will increase knowledge about applications of Statistics in particular. The expected output from this stage is the analysis of the participants can be published to the public, for example through the web and social media of PRS 2018, so it can be used as a base in formulating the problems of construction and development company that own creative industries, especially in the Southeast Asia. 2. THEME Data Analysis Competition (DAC) 2018 is carrying theme "Statistical Analysis in Digital Business". The usage of statistical modeling has increased dramatically in digital-based business over the last few decades. Seeing the development of digital-based business is increasing rapidly, through data analysis is expected to give a positive impact on the business both to consumers in terms of user experience and companies in determining the future strategy. 3. PARTICIPANTS Participants of DAC 2018 are diploma or/and undergraduate students from university in Southeast Asia. Provisions team: 1. A team consists of 2 diploma or/and undergraduate students. 2. Team members may come from different majors or/and different batch but still in same university. 3. Teammate should be the same and can t be replaced during competition. 4. If provisions are not obeyed, the team will be disqualified.

2 Each team of Data Analysis Competition (DAC) 2018 consists of two people. The detail event of 3 stages is as follows: a. Preliminary Stage (Online) 1. Participants joined in a team consists of two people from the same university 2. Premilinary stage is implemented by participants registering their team at After registering on the website, participants can directly download the question and upload the answer on the website in elimination round period 3. The time period to accomplish and collect the answers is 10 days, from on February 26th, 2018 till March 8th, Participants are not allowed to send the answer exceeds the allocated time 5. Participants who qualify for the semifinal stage are 30 teams, consist of 5% from domestic participants, 5% from foreign participants, and the rest from top ranking in Southeast Asia b. Semifinal Stage 1. The 30 teams that entered the semifinals following the semifinal stage on the campus ITS Sukolilo, Surabaya 2. Participants do the problems given by writing with the help of software Statistics and join the seminary. 3. Participants that entered the final stage are five teams with the highest scores. c. Final Stage 1. Participants are requested to collect all the material presentation to the committee 2. Participants who qualified for the final stage are welcome to prepare for a presentation in front of the jury and the participants of DAC 3. The final score is pure from the jury based on the presentation of the finalists 4. TEST MATERIALS The analytical method used is the method of statistical analysis in general. The most important point is to make the data be an informative data and understandable by most common people.

3 5. REGISTRATION FEES The registration fee for the elimination round is FREE. 4 7. REGISTRATION PROCEDURES Registration procedure of DAC 2018 are below: 1. Register your team at 2. Fill the inquiries in the registration form 3. Once you are logged in, your team will be able to download the question on the website (on the Pre-Registration tab) in elimination round period 4. Upload your team s answer directly on the website (on the Pre-Registration tab) in elimination round period 5. Your team leader will get from DAC 2018 committee once you completed uploading the answer. 8.
