2 Why do I have to report? New National VET Data Policy Department of Education recently released a new National VET Data Policy Effective from 1 January 2018, with a 6 month transition period Visit the VET Data Policy section of Department of Education s website Subscribe to our Data Support Bulletin to ensure you are across any further information Implications for your RTO Change enrolment forms to include a specific privacy notice and student declaration Minor change to the AVETMISS validation software (AVS) to acknowledge reading the VET data use and RTO declaration and understanding statement Reporting exemptions reduced - refer to Policy on the Department of Education and Training s website for details 2

3 Collecting AVETMISS data AVETMISS reporting process 1. Maintain your data in your student management system 2. Export data (in NAT file format) for designated period 3. Validate your data 4. Edit data in your system to resolve validation errors 5. Export data and re-validate data until error free 6. Submit through the appropriate submission channel at designated times Using the AVETMISS Validation Software Access the AVETMISS Validation Software (AVS) Download the AVS User Guide Watch the AVS video tutorial 3
