3 History of EIP in SH 2013 the Ministry promoted - kick-off events - workshops with thematic introductions with the idea of founding initiative groups - he plans 1.5 Mio. p.year 3

4 History of EIP in SH in spring 2014 was the first official call for EIP ideas by the ministry - stakeholders founded working parties - in may 19 project outlines were submitted - an offer of funding for preparation was given by the ministry - 13 groups made use of this funding for 4 months 4

5 History of EIP in SH 2014 In July the Innovation Office started at the Chamber of Agriculture in SH to support EIP management and an assistant the Innovation Office is the link between the Ministry and the Operational Groups (OG) 5

6 How does the innovation office support the EIP-process? In September we organized the 1. public EIP-forum Meeting for all operational groups and interested people - two lead-partners gave a lecture about their planned innovation projects - all other groups presented their projects on posters -good possibility to come together -to network, -to share the experience and get to know each other -transparency helps to show the interfaces between the projects and the groups in spite of the competition for the money, 6

8 How does the Innovation Office support the EIP-process? Tasks for the groups 1. Project Work - give help in form and content for the projcts - provide assistance for the selection and developement - find the innovative nugget - bring projects together, but also split up groups if necessary - find interfaces between projects or groups - provide support for group processes and moderate the different interests! 8

9 How does the innovation office support the EIP-process? 2. Networking for the groups: - we organize workshops with all partners involved - we arrange meetings between research, consulting and practice and sponsors - we look for partners necessary for the groups 9

10 How does the innovation office support the EIP-process? 3. Assistance in Preparation of Applications: - we give information about guidelines, selection criteria, cooperation agreement - we advise the lead partners on drawing up the application - we assist in generating a business plan (with financial, costs and project plan) 10

11 Current Status and Realisation - 18 groups have submitted their project applications on 31st of October - some OGs applied for more than one project - all together there are about 40 projects and the OGs applied for 3.2 million per year! - keen competition! And hard work for the jury - meeting of the jury is not fixed yet - but SH wants to start in EIP -projects in spring 2015! 11

14 EIP Agrar in Schleswig-Holstein Next steps - the project selection by the jury - start of the selected projects in we foster the PR and networking in SH, (North of) Germany and in Europe - and develop the interactive work and working relationships with the agrobusiness (farmers, advisory services and research and associations) - we give support to the Operational Groups in realizing their projects - we give assistance in the implementation and handling of EIP needs such as documentation 14

15 EIP Agrar in Schleswig-Holstein Next steps Future approach for the Innovation Office: - management of innovations - raise and use the potential of the actors - give transparency about the process - standardise the documentation and administration - organize public relations and networking - and open up new financing opportunities 15

16 Main Bottlenecks - bureaucracy takes time! - money is limited! - the people are impatient! They want to start!! 16

18 Best practices in introducing the interactive innovation model and operational groups 3. the Actors of the Agriculural Sector - people have a lot of enthusiasm for this new idea - many actors are envolved: farmers, associations, advisory services, researchers of all our Universities and a companies - they all want to start networking and developing innovation projects! That s the best chance! 18
