1 9 This Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was distributed to 104federal, state, and local elected officials and agencies, as well as eight federally recognized tribes and 19 non-governmental organizations (NGOs). In addition, 2,164 concerned citizens from around the country were notified of the release of the EIS. While the distribution list numbers have changed over time, the Navy continues to reach out to all interested parties. Table 9-1 identifies the number of agencies, elected officials, tribes, NGOs, and concerned citizens on the project distribution list. Concerned citizens are members of the public who requested to be added to the project distribution list either through the project website or during the public scoping process.
