The fall season included top-10 finishes at all five tournaments. That was highlighted by a victory at the Badger Invitational, winning the event for only the second time in its 17-year history, and the first time since Wisconsin tied the Badger Invitational team record Senior Carlie Werwie set the UW 54-hole record by winning the Badger Invitational record Sept. 27 with a with a , winning by two strokes over Augusta State. UW s Carly Werwie also won the individual competition. The senior shot a school and Badger Invitational 54-hole record of Sophomore Lindsay Danielson was one of the team s most consistent players. Danielson, an Osceola, Wis., native led the team in scoring, finishing with an average of strokes per round. Danielson recorded consecutive top-10 finishes in the fall. She followed up a fifth place finish at the Badger Invitational with an eighth place finish at the Johnie Imes Invitational. Another emerging star for the team was freshman Kris Yoo, from Schaumburg, Ill. Yoo was remarkably consistent during the fall season, showcasing her great composure. She finished strong at the end of the year, setting career-best 36-hole and 54-hole scores en route to team medalist honors at the final fall tournament, the Alamo Invitational. Wisconsin will also look for strong spring performances from returners Alyssa Elliot and Werwie. Each led the team at one fall event, and finished second and third, respectively, in scoring average. SPRING SEASON IN REVIEW Coach Todd Oehrlein was named the Big Ten Co-Coach of the Year after his team placed fourth at the conference meet and was chosen for the NCAA Central Regional. The Badgers were selected the No. 18 team among the 24 teams and six individuals invited to the 54-hole NCAA Central Regional May 5-7 held at the Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind. It is the first regional for UW since Eight teams and two individual qualify for the NCAA National Championship May at the Traditions club in College Station, Tex. At the Big Ten Championships, the team finished fourth with a =1195, equaling its result from the previous season. The total was the second best 72-hole finish for the Badgers and just one off the school record of 1,194 set in The Badgers had four golfers finish in the top 20 overall, including two in the top 10. Freshman Kris Yoo led the team, recording the best finish of her career placing seventh with an 8-over par =296 that included her lowest 18-hole round of 69. The 296 tied the UW 72-hole individual record held by four others and last tied by Carly Werwie when she tied for seventh at the 2010 Big Ten meet. Lindsay Danielson finished the Big Ten event in 10th place. She carded an 11-over par =299 which is the sixth best 72-hole score in the records. She continued a stellar spring season that includes four top-15 finishes. The Lady Buckeye marked Danielson s best career finish as she shot a =227 to finish in second place, just one stroke off of the individual lead. She has led UW in five events this year and has finished No. 1 or 2 in 10 of 11 events. As a team at the Lady Buckeye Invitational April 16-17, Wisconsin was the second highest Big Ten team (of nine) and finished third overall with a =939. The tournament was won by Michigan State.
