Activities Students at Hilton Head Prep have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extracurricular, arts and community service activities throughout the year. In addition, boarding students will experience the culture and community with local trips and events. Campus Life The Bath campus is built on a 145 acre estate including the historic Hyde Mansion and carriage house, Athletic Center, Student Life Center, and Spiritual Center, and features a ropes course, state of the art music recording studio, climbing wall and cross country ski trails. With 100% of students and 95% of faculty living on campus, Hyde School is a second home for students. All international students have an American roommate to fully immerse themselves in American culture and English language. Each room accommodates two students, and there are about 10 rooms on a hall. Activities Each student is involved in performing arts, and will play sports for three seasons. The Kennedy Alpine Curriculum underpins all learning and uses the beautiful surrounding environment to enrich students learning, to develop their practical and social skills, and to give them an understanding and experience of life in the mountains. 11 Success Rate 100% of students matriculate to high schools after completion. Approximately 60% enroll in Swiss boarding schools, 30% enroll in UK boarding schools, and 10% return to their own country to continue their education. Campus Life JFK International School offers a unique, family-oriented educational and boarding environment for younger students. A series of traditional, historic Swiss buildings provides both teaching and boarding facilities at the school. Two boarding houses provide a welcoming home to 25 students. Boys and girls are housed in separate chalets where they are cared for by the experienced boarding staff. A new Secondary Building provides modern classrooms, science laboratory and library media centre, as well as a large multipurpose hall providing space for drama productions, musical activities, and assemblies. The ski slopes are among the best in the world, and in winter, students spend three afternoons per week developing their ski level with experienced instructors. Activities Enrichment Programs on campus offer students varied experiences where they can develop their skills as well as learn new ones. There are a variety of athletic opportunities, as well as arts that encourage musical and artistic abilities. Students can participate in the school choir, theater and band, as well as individual instrument lessons. Cultural activities and trips enrich classroom learning with visits to local places of interest, and museums. Middle school students also participate in Model United Nations, where they study and discuss global issues. Sports Athletic and team sports develop physical skills and include swimming, climbing, soccer, karate, tennis, and horse-riding. Winter Skiing is considered a very important part of the JFK school experience, and takes place during the months of January, February and March. Highly qualified ski teachers provide instruction in techniques and racing skills and students may participate in local and regional ski races. Maine Central Institute is also home to the Bossov Ballet Theatre, which is both a performing company, as well as an international pre-professional ballet school and offers the unique opportunity for students to study classical ballet as part of the academic curriculum. Campus Life The campus was established in 1866 and has historic buildings dating back to The beautiful campus features a state-of-the-art Math and Science Center, library, music building, two gymnasiums, four residence halls, and the MCI Trustee Memorial Student Center, which houses the dining hall, performance stage, food court, and game room. Boarding students reside in singlesex residences on campus, supervised by resident faculty and staff. Each residence has its own recreation and laundry rooms. Activities Athletics and activities play an important educational role at Maine Central Institute. Students are required to either participate in one full season of a sport, or to be active in at least one other club or activity. Campus Life The residential program at Marianapolis Prep integrates the comfort of home-style living into the structure of a boarding school schedule. There are 6 dormitories on campus, separated by gender as 2 for boys and 4 for girls. Rooms are comprised of either 2, 3 or 4 students, and House Parents live within each of the dormitories to look after the students needs. Each dormitory also contains common space for students to socialize. Activities Students are exposed to a number of opportunities, including extracurricular activities, leadership positions, and L.E.A.P Week. All students are encouraged to participate in some of the more than 30 clubs and organizations offered on campus. Some clubs include: Community Choir, Model UN, Photography Club, Robotics & Engineering Club, Ski Club, Gymnastics, and Equestrian. Success Rate 100% of students are accepted to a 4 year college or university. Campus Life The residential facility at Maui Prep is located 2.7 miles (7 minute drive) from the main academic campus. Three to four students reside in each apartment, which is fully equipped with bathroom and kitchenette, and is ideal for student apartment-style living. Full time Dorm Parents and Residential staff also reside in the building, which is safe and secure with private gate and has private access to a local beach. Lounge areas are available on the first floor where students can gather, and shuttle access is provided each morning and afternoon to accommodate student activities. Activities Students are invited to participate in interscholastic athletics, various clubs and organizations, and community service. All Upper School students are required to complete 25 community service hours per academic year, as well as participating in two seasons of sports each year. There are also several clubs and organizations on campus for students to join. Sports Interscholastic sports teams include: Cross Country, Golf, Outrigger Canoe Paddling, Swimming, Surfing, Tennis, Track & Field, and Volleyball (girls). Premier Academies in Tennis and Golf are also available to Boarding students.
