In addition to a commitment to academic excellence, all Hyde students are required to participate in 3 seasons of athletics, an all-school performing arts show, dormitory life, advising groups and school meetings. Hyde also offers an Academic Support Program, which serves students who have particular learning needs and who may require additional support for success in the rigorous collegepreparatory curriculum. The Bath campus is built on a 145 acre estate including the historic Hyde Mansion and carriage house, Athletic Center, Student Life Center, and Spiritual Center, and features a ropes course, state of the art music recording studio, climbing wall and cross country ski trails. With 100% of students and 95% of faculty living on campus, Hyde is a second home for students. All international students have an American roommate to fully immerse themselves in American culture and English language. Each room accommodates two students, and there are about 10 rooms on a hall. Each student is involved in performing arts, and will play sports for three seasons. Students in the humanities program understand the culture of an era through a study of its history, literature and art. In addition to these and available Advanced Placement courses, students can excel in Drama, Music, and Visual Arts. The campus was established in 1866 and has historic buildings dating back to The beautiful campus features a state-of-the-art Math and Science Center, library, music building, two gymnasiums, four residence halls, and the MCI Trustee Memorial Student Center, which houses the dining hall, performance stage, food court, and game room. Boarding students reside in singlesex residences on campus, supervised by resident faculty and staff. Each residence has its own recreation and laundry rooms. Athletics and activities play an important educational role at Maine Central Institute. Students are required to either participate in one full season of a sport, or to be active in at least one other club or activity. Leadership opportunities are also available in Student Council, Dorm Council, and in the numerous clubs on campus. Within a rigorous preparatory course of study, Marianapolis Prep nurtures students to become responsible and independent learners. The residential program at Marianapolis Prep integrates the comfort of home-style living into the structure of a boarding school schedule. There are 6 dormitories on campus, separated by gender as 2 for boys and 4 for girls. Rooms are comprised of either 2, 3 or 4 students, and House Parents live within each of the dormitories to look after the students needs. Each dormitory also contains common space for students to socialize. Students are exposed to a number of opportunities, including extracurricular activities, cultural trips abroad, the chance to hold leadership positions, and L.E.A.P. Week. All students are encouraged to explore their interests outside of the classroom in some of the more than 30 clubs and organizations offered on campus. The residential facility at Maui Prep is located 2.7 miles (7 minute drive) from the main academic campus. Three to four students reside in each apartment, which is fully equipped with bathroom and kitchenette, and is ideal for student apartment-style living. Full time Dorm Parents and Residential staff also reside in the building, which is safe and secure with private gate and has private access to a local beach. Lounge areas are available on the first floor where students can gather, and shuttle access is provided each morning and afternoon to accommodate student activities. Students are invited to participate in interscholastic athletics, various clubs and organizations, and community service, among other programs. All Upper students are required to complete 25 community service hours per academic year, as well as participating in two seasons of sports each year. Religious electives are required as part of curriculum Uniforms Uniforms are not required, but there is a Dress Code for all students to follow Olney Friends offers a comprehensive, intellectually challenging college preparatory curriculum that promotes creativity and curiosity both inside the classroom and out. The integrated humanities curriculum was designed with a recognition of the relationship that exists between literature, history, and religion. With the renovation of the new Stillwater Science Center, Olney Friends places a strong emphasis on the growing fields of STEM, offering numerous courses in the sciences. Olney Friends is also an SAT Testing site for exams in October and May. Although AP courses aren t offered, all students are welcome to participate in AP exams at the end of the academic year. Olney Friends offers ESL support for students with an intermediate level of English. 100% of students are accepted to a 4 year college or university. Olney Friends has two dormitories on campus: one for boys and one for girls, staffed with 3-4 adult faculty. Enjoying a safe location, the whole school community endeavors to foster mutual respect and understanding whist cultivating individual talents and potential. As an international school, St. George s offers Junior and Senior with the following academic programs: International Baccalaureate, IGCSE Programme, and High Diploma Programme. St. George s incorporates two programs for English instruction to assist students with achieving proficiency. The English Language Acquisition Program is a one year course designed for students aged who do not yet have the language skills to be successful in an English curriculum. The four Houses where the students reside are named after four figures from Greek and Roman mythology: Atalanta (Red), Diana (Yellow), Minerva (Blue), and Vesta (Green). Dorm Parents and faculty live on campus with the students. Most students at St. George s participate in sports or on-campus extracurricular activities. In addition to a variety of athletic teams, students can also choose to participate in school clubs and societies, including Drama, Orchestra, Choir, Debate, and Sewing.
