2 Clemens Tradition Saturday (1 & 4 pm) and Sunday (12 & 4 pm) in the Louis C. Jones Center Clemens Tradition is an old time fiddle and classic country group based in Osceola, NY on the Tug Hill Plateau. It is made up of several members who perform at venues across New York State and beyond. The group members have over 100 years of performing experience combined. They have performed at The Fiddler s Fair at the Genesee Country Museum, The North American Fiddler s Hall of Fame in Osceola, the Fiddler s Gathering at Watkin s Glen, and the Roxbury Arts Group. Jackie Hobbs is the lead fiddler in the group. She is the Granddaughter of the late Queen of the New York State Fiddlers, Alice Clemens. Jackie was 2002 New York State Inductee to the North American Fiddler s Hall of Fame and Museum located in Osceola, NY. Diana Lynn, the daughter of New York State Ladies Fiddle Champion Alice Clemens, grew up performing on the stage. George Harrington has been a professional musician since the age of 11. He began his career as the harmony half of the Harrington Brothers and has worked on stage, television and radio. Alice Briggs, also a daughter of Alice Clemens, played percussion for the family band in the 1970 s and has recently started performing again. This program made possible by funding from the New York State Council on the Arts Free Family Concert starting Saturday at 6 pm! The bluegrass group Gravel Yard will liven up the Museum on Saturday evening from 6-8 pm. Come early and enjoy a tasty chicken dinner before the show. During the show, there will be wine and beer available along with light refreshments.
