3 community profile Oakland Township is situated in Oakland County in the Detroit metropolitan community of Southeast Michigan. It covers 36 sq. miles and has the distinction of being one of the state's oldest townships. A defining characteristic of the township is the abundance of inland lakes, streams, and wetlands which offer excellent recreational destinations, residential locations and wildlife habitat. Early settlers also found the geography appealing in 1824 when the first parcels of land were purchased. Schools were built in Goodison became the heart of the community when a post office was established in Today, you will find the municipal offices still located in historic Goodison. Although the Township's rate of growth has accelerated significantly since 1990, efforts of the Historic District commission have been made to preserve the rural feeling of the area. Together, Rochester and Rochester Hills, adjacent cities to Oakland Township, hold a novel position in the history and economic development of Oakland County, Michigan. This area has the second highest per capita income in the nation for counties with over one million people. This is one of the reasons Oakland County holds the coveted Triple A bond rating by both Standard and Poors and Moody s. The area is home to the DaimlerChrysler Corporation North American Headquarters and Leader Dogs for the Blind. 2
4 homeowner/condo association Century Oaks Homeowners Association is managed by Kramer-Triad Management Company. All information regarding community easements and other common elements is detailed in the Master Deed. The homeowners association dues contribute to the following community amenities: Street maintenance including snow removal on streets, and maintenance of common space including grass cutting on common space and upkeep of community landscape features. 3
