ALBANY PTC SCHOLARSHIP. $200 each will be awarded to 2 graduating seniors. Students must be a resident of the Town of Albany and have attended Albany Community School for at least four years. Name: Town of Residence 9. BARTON PARENTS CLUB. Applicant must be a resident of the Barton School District and have attended Barton Graded School for at least four years. Final selection will be determined by an evaluation of need for assistance, combined with academic excellence, community service and participation in extracurricular activities with an emphasis on one who may have overcome difficult or adverse situations in their personal or academic situations. 10. C & C SUPERMARKET SCHOLARSHIP. $500 awarded to a graduating senior planning to pursue a career in Business Administration. 11. CENTRAL LODGE #62 F. & A.M. SCHOLARSHIP. Awarded to a student who best exemplifies the Masonic values - character, scholarship, service, charity, and personal responsibility. (Please include a two-page essay answering the following questions: How have you demonstrated character and personal responsibility? What community/charitable work have you done and why? Why do you feel you deserve this scholarship? Also include any unusual circumstances or adversities you may have experienced and how you ve overcome them). 12. CODY COLE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. Awarded to a graduating senior with established financial need who will attend a two to four year program, enrolled as a full-time student. Applicants for this scholarship must have played sports and/or enjoy outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, snow-machining or four-wheeling. Special consideration will be given to students with a minimum GPA of 2.75 and with a good attendance record. 13. CUTLER SCHOLARSHIP. Awarded to the graduating senior who has made an outstanding contribution to the school or the community. (Please write a summary (2-3 paragraphs) about your contributions to the school and/or the community). 14. DERBY ACADEMY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION. To qualify for this award, the applicant must be a descendant of a Derby Academy Alumnus. Financial award made to a student graduating from an Orleans County High School accepted into a 4-year Engineering program at a College or University. 18. EOLA JOHNSON WEEKS SCHOLARSHIP. Any individual who resides within the Barton Academy and Graded School District at the time of graduation. 19. 4 th FRIDAY JAM SESSION. For a student planning to major in music and attending a two or four year college or university 20. GIFFORD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. Student must be a resident of the town of Barton, and be pursuing a post-secondary education. 21. GLOVER BICENTENNIAL SCHOLARSHIP. Awarded to a graduating senior who resides in the town of Glover. Based on community involvement, financial need, application and effort toward an educational, vocational, or professional goal. 22. GLOVER PARENTS CLUB. Student must be a resident of the town of Glover, have attended Glover Community School for at least four years, be a high school graduate, and be accepted or enrolled in post-secondary education. 23. HASTINGS STUDENT AID FUND. Students recommended by the Hastings Student Aid Board for this loan. Eligible students must reside in and attend school in Barton Town School District, Barton Academy and Graded School District and the merged district. 24. HAYFORD-BERGERON SCHOLARSHIP. $500 awarded to a senior entering a 4 year degree program in the fields of history, political science, journalism or education. 25. JASON R. WHITE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. $750 awarded to a student entering a 2 or 4 year college or technical school majoring in Engineering or a related field. 26. KARLENE V. RUSSELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. $100 awarded to a senior planning a career in Education. Page 3 of 7

Name: Town of Residence 27. KYNSLEE JANET MARIE PETERS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSIP. $250 awarded to a graduating senior with an interest in music and outdoor activities. Community service will be considered. Students residing in Albany or Irasburg and/or pursuing a degree in the Health Care field will be given preference. 28. LAKE REGION UNION HIGH SCHOOL PARENT ASSOCIATION. $500 each, awarded to two students. All students planning to further their education or vocational training should apply regardless of GPA. Students will be recognized for leadership skills, community service and extracurricular activities. (Please include a short essay telling the LRPA about your community service experience as well as how your experience at Lake Region Union High School influenced your decision to further your education.) 29. THE LASZLO SCHOLARSHIP. $500 awarded to a student residing in Orleans County. He/she must plan to pursue higher education at an accredited school in the field of international relations or domestic public service, with a secondary interest in foreign languages. Applicant must possess personal integrity, honesty, kindness, and demonstrate concern for others in the conduct of his/her life. Plans to give service to the Peace Corps or other domestic or international aid organization will be viewed favorably. (Please include the name and phone number of two individuals who the committee may call for a reference. Also, applicant may be asked to interview with the Scholarship Committee) 30. LEE EMERSON SCHOLARSHIP. Must be a resident of the town of Barton and be pursing education beyond high school. Must excel in scholastic endeavors and be active in school extracurricular activities. 31. MAPLE LANE NURSING & RETIREMENT HOMES SCHOLARSHIP. $500 awarded to a graduating senior pursuing a career in Nursing (either a 1-year (LPN) or a 2-year program). 32. MARGARET KAMBOUR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. $500 to be awarded to a graduating senior who has studied French for a minimum of two years at Lake Region. Based upon merit, character, and financial need. 33. MARJORIE LABOR LAFOE ORLEANS AMERICAN LEGION AUXILARY UNIT #23 SCHOLARSHIPS. 1. $250.00 to be awarded to a graduating senior planning a career in teaching. 2. $250.00 to be awarded to a graduating senior planning to go in the U.S. Military to help defray expenses. Special consideration given to students involved in music, drama, and athletic activities, who have demonstrated strong character, with financial need also being considered. Recipient to be chosen by the family. 35. MEMPHREMAGOG WATERSHED ASSOC. SCHOLARSHIP. $500 to $1000 awarded to graduating seniors interested in pursuing further education in the sciences, particularly but not limited to environmental science. (Additional application required and is available in the Guidance office.) 36. NORTH COUNTRY HOSPITAL. Applicant must be a resident of the North Country Hospital Service area, intending to pursue a career in patient care such as pre-med, nursing, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, x-ray technician. 37. ORLEANS CENTRAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP. Awarded to a senior pursuing a career in Education. (Short Essay entitled Why I Want To Be A Teacher is required.) Since excellent communication skills are essential to being a good teacher, essays will be a major part of the decision-making process. Please pay special attention to writing a complete essay with excellent control of grammar, usage and mechanics). 38. ORLEANS COUNTY BOARD OF REALTORS. $1000 each, awarded to two graduating seniors planning to pursue a career in Business or related field. 39. ORLEANS COUNTY FARM BUREAU SCHOLARSHIP. Awarded to a graduate pursuing a field of study related to agriculture or those who come from a solid agricultural background. Short Essay entitled The Impact Agriculture Has Had On My Life and How It Will Affect My Future is required. (Additional application required and is available in the Guidance office.) 40. ORLEANS HIGH SCHOOL (OHS) ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP: Available to any high school senior whose parent(s) or grandparent(s) were graduates of Orleans High School. Specify name of Parent or Grandparent. ***Note: graduating seniors may reapply next year. 41. OHS ALUMNI S ROGER BARTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Available to any high school senior whose parent(s) or grandparent(s) were graduates of Orleans High School. OHS ALUMNI S PROF. LESLIE SCHOLARSHIP: Available to any Lake Region student furthering his or her education for the betterment of agriculture. FFA teacher will make advisement. 44. ORLEANS LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP. $1,000 scholarship awarded to a boy planning to attend a two year degree program, and $1,000 scholarship awarded to a girl planning to attend a two year degree program. The scholarships are paid at the rate of $250 per semester for four semesters. 45. ORLEANS LODGE #55 F. & A.M. SCHOLARSHIP. $1,000 scholarship awarded to the student who best exemplifies the Masonic values. Freemasonry now, as ever, is the friend and champion of education and learning and of intellectual freedom and progress. Freemasonry emphasizes character, scholarship, service, charity, and personal responsibility. (Short essay entitled How I have demonstrated character, scholarship, service, charity, and personal responsibility is required). 46. REBECCA L. BAPP MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. Awarded to a graduating senior planning to attend the Community College of Vermont (CCV) or Johnson State College, with preference given to a student intending to pursue a career in business. Any graduate planning to pursue a business degree at a school other than CCV or Johnson State is welcome to apply. 47. ROBIN LAFONT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. Awarded in memory of Robin Lafont to a graduating senior from Lake Region. All students are eligible to apply.. 48. SHAWN SMITH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND. Awarded to a Senior planning to pursue a career in business. Students with a GPA of 2.75 or higher will be given first consideration. 49. UNITED MOTORCYCLISTS OF VERMONT. $500 awarded to a student entering a 2 or 4-year College or Technical School. Financial need is a priority. (Additional application required and is available in the Guidance office.) 50. VALLEY LODGE #106 F. & A.M. SCHOLARSHIP (Orleans, VT). $1000 awarded to a student who best exemplifies the Masonic values. Freemasonry emphasizes character, scholarship, service, charity and personal responsibility. Based on financial need, merit, character, and academic performance. Must be academically secure. Students residing in Westmore will be given preference. 54. WESTMORE COMMUNITY CHURCH SIMPSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. Preference given to a Westmore student wishing to pursue an education in the field of Medicine, Nursing, or Teaching. 55. WINSTON DAWBER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. $500 awarded to a graduating senior going into a trade profession or trade school, such as electrical, plumbing, H-VAC, construction, contracting, automotive, welding. Students attending any other type of trade school are welcome to apply and will be considered. Application must be signed by both student and parent.
