All new students will meet their Student Success Leader (SSL) for the first time. The team leaders will then escort the new transfer students to classrooms. SSLs are upper-class Hollins students who will help you with your transition into Hollins. 4:30 5:30 p.m. OPENING CONVOCATION During this special ceremony and one of many Hollins traditions, new students will be welcomed into the campus community, seniors will process in their robes for the first time, and President Lawrence will officially open the academic year. dupont Chapel 5:30 p.m. FIRST STEP Immediately after Opening Convocation, seniors take their first official steps onto Front Quad. Tradition maintains that seniors are the only students permitted to walk on Front Quad. Come support the senior class as they take their first steps on the quad and experience another Hollins tradition.
