Critical Global Engagement Club: Part of EWB s mission is to empower communities to meet their basic human needs. This mission is admirable, but what does it look like in practice? What does it mean to empower a community? How can we confront the complex power structures that have inhibited communities from meeting their basic human needs? These questions have no simple, distinct solution. Critical Global Engagement (CGE) Club is partnering with EWB to host discussions and further projects to explore these questions. This week we will be having a discussion on sustainable development and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Join us Mondays 6:00-7:00 pm in building 38 room 220! IMPACT: IMPACT, Engineers Without Borders volunteering team, works with nonprofits across SLO County to carry on the tradition of thinking globally and acting locally. IMPACT organizes volunteering events that unite EWB members and fellow Cal Poly students with local nonprofits dedicated to the community EWB Cal Poly knows and loves.
