Parents' Orientation Because parents need orienting too. Parent activities during New Student Orientation 2017. Sure, your student will need your help during move-in day, but what else do we have in store for parents during orientation? Plenty! You can get your financial aid and insurance questions answered, learn about our active Parents' Association, take campus tours and more. Please note that there are individualized schedules for parents of transfer students. This schedule is tentative. Times and locations are subject to change. Friday, August 25, 2017 Parents of New Students 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Rose-Hulman Bookstore Bookstore, HMU 122, Hulman Union Purchase Rose-Hulman apparel, school supplies, decorations for your residence hall room, and books. The Bookstore is located on the lower lever of the Hulman Union. 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Student Financial Aid Financial Aid Office, H104, Hadley Hall Members of the Financial Aid Office staff will be available to answer any questions that you have concerning financial aid. 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Student Financial Services Business Office, A102, Moench Hall Staff will be on hand to answer any questions that you have about your invoice and to take payments. 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Student Insurance Services B109, Moench Hall Get your questions answered concerning RHIT student health insurance.

Noon 3:00 p.m. Center for Diversity Orientation Open House Center for Diversity, Logan Library Meet the director and her staff, and check out the new center which includes space for you to relax or study between classes as well as a refreshment center that includes delicious snacks and beverages which you can sample during the open house. In addition, the Center for Diversity s 2017-2018 exciting calendar of events, the phenomenal Diversity Speakers Series, and many other unique campus initiatives will be unveiled. Noon - 4:00 p.m. Parents' Association Information Table Tent, Olin Lawn Stop by the Parents' Association tent to get a snow cone and get information from experienced parents. 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Academic Department Open Houses Locations and a map are located in your packet. Stop by the various academic departments on campus and meet faculty and the administrative assistants who will spend much time with your student. A list of locations and a map is located in your packet. 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Office of the Registrar Open House Moench Hall, A218 Visit the Office of the Registrar to address questions pertaining to transfer credit, any advanced credit, fall schedules, enrollment verification, etc.

2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Campus Tours Welcome Tent, Olin Lawn Tours of the campus will be given by upper-class students. A tour will depart every fifteen minutes beginning at 2:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Rose-Hulman Legacy Event Alumni Center, Hatfield Hall The legacy event is open to all new students that have a parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt, or uncle that graduated from Rose-Hulman. Stop by to pick up your special swag bag and snap a family photo. A gift will be available for your alumni family member too! 3:45 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. General Information for Parents on Rose-Hulman's Men's Greek Life E104, Moench Hall RHIT Greeks will be on hand to describe the system to you and answer any questions that you have. 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Dinner Your Choice While your student enjoys his/her first floor dinner with new friends, check out one of the many dining options Terre Haute has to offer. Information on local restaurants can be found in the packet you received at check-in. 6:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. Parents Association Meeting Lake Room, HMU 171, Hulman Union Meet representatives from the Parents' Association and learn about the organization that helps plan and organize various activities throughout the year such as Fall Family Weekend.

This fun event will give parents time to get to know one another and have fun playing bingo for prizes while enjoying light refreshments. Get advice from students who also transferred to Rose-Hulman and ask any questions you may have about Rose-Hulman.

5:45 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. Transfer Student Dinner with Student Leaders Vonderschmitt Dining Room, HMU 216, Hulman Union Transfer students and their family members are invited to enjoy dinner with upper-class students. There is no cost to attend this dinner, but you must RSVP. Please RSVP using the link sent to you via email. 9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. - Parents/Family members with last names A-L 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. - Parents/Family members with last names M-Z Parents' Orientation Session - Student Life at Rose- Hulman Hulbert Arena, Sports and Recreation Center (SRC) Vice President and Dean of Students, Mr. Erik Hayes, Dean of Faculty, Dr. Russ Warley, and Department Head of Biology and Biomedical Engineering/Former Dean of Faculty, Dr. Jameel Ahmed, will provide an overview of the support your student will receive at Rose-Hulman. Time will be allotted for Mr. Hayes, Dr. Warley, and Dr. Ahmed, to take questions from the audience. Please attend your assigned session to ensure an interactive and engaging experience. 9:00 a.m. - Noon Campus Tours Front Stairs, Sports & Recreation Center (SRC) Tours of the campus will be given by upper-class students. A tour will depart every fifteen minutes beginning at 9:00 a.m. 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Student Financial Aid Financial Aid Office, H104, Hadley Hall Members of the Financial Aid Office staff will be available to answer any questions that you have concerning financial aid. 10:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. Banking Services Expo Fieldhouse, Sports & Recreation Center (SRC) Banks from the local area will be on hand to help you open bank accounts and answer any other questions about their services. 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Campus Resource Fair Fieldhouse, Sports & Recreation Center (SRC) Representatives from offices and programs across campus will be available to meet you, distribute information, and

answer questions about the support services they provide your student. Check back later this summer for a list of all participating offices and services. 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Orientation Picnic Fieldhouse, Sports & Recreation Center (SRC) Make your reservations to attend this campus-wide picnic. Enjoy food, games, and photos with your student. Online reservations are available on the Orientation website. You will then pick up your tickets when you arrive on campus for move-in. Please note, you do not have to purchase a ticket for your student. 1:15 p.m. President's Welcoming Address Hulbert Arena, Sports and Recreation Center (SRC) President James Conwell, PhD, PE, will deliver welcoming remarks to new students and their families. Immediately following Farewell Celebration Fieldhouse, Sports and Recreation Center (SRC) Enjoy light refreshments with your student before you depart campus.
