In Australia, the organisation has provided practical assistance, support and friendship, and has advocated on behalf of communities since its establishment in 1854. Today, our members, volunteers and employees work together to provide a range of services, supports and programs including: material aid, referrals and linkages to other organisations, advocacy, friendship to people living with a mental illness, opportunities for young people and meals to people in need via our Soup Vans. The organisation also operates retail shops, commonly called Vinnies, that raise much needed funds to support households and communities in need. PURPOSE OF ROLE Reporting to the General Manager Marketing & Fundraising, the purpose of the role is to oversee the effective stewardship of all supporter and donor relationships as part of St Vincent de Paul Victoria s marketing and fundraising strategy. Successful coordination of St Vincent de Paul Society s donor liaison function. Successful completion (on time and budget) of relevant relationship retention and growth campaigns. 2. Major Donor Program Increased major donor response to the St Vincent de Paul Society s Christmas & Winter appeals Increased major donor response outside of major appeals for key organisational funding requirements Acquisition of new major donors and growth of the major donor program 3. Bequest Program Increased bequestor response to the St Vincent de Paul Society s Christmas & Winter appeals Increased levels of engagement and response from current Bequestor relationships Acquisition of new bequest donors and growth of the bequest program 4. Regular Giving Program Increased levels of engagement and response from regular giving donors Acquisition of new regular giving donors and growth of the regular giving program 5. Grant Writing Program Establishment of a targeted grant writing program for St Vincent de Paul Victoria Identification and coordination of submissions seeking funding for priority Society and conference requirements 6. Identify opportunities from internal departments and external stakeholders to deepen current levels of engagement and to grow the Society s supporter base. Design and implement effective activities in response to identified opportunities to deepen current levels of engagement and to grow the Society s supporter base. Analyse team fundraising activities translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for establishing and strengthening donor or supporter relationships Monitor operational donor liaision activities to ensure high levels of responsiveness, customer service and complaint resolution. Monitor donor liaison resourcing requirements to ensure that response and processing times are effectively managed, especially in peak campaign periods. Write, develop and design materials for use in support of St Vincent de Paul Victoria s relationship management strategy Successful completion (on time and budget) of relevant projects and meeting KPIs for the organisation.
Major Donor Program Increased major donor response to the St Vincent de Paul Society s Christmas & Winter appeals Increased major donor response outside of major appeals for key organisational funding requirements Acquisition of new major donors and growth of the major donor program Lead, develop and implement a major donor strategy as part of the overall fundraising strategy for St Vincent de Paul Victoria. Oversee the development of individual major donor relationships and personally manage a portfolio of prospects and donors. Develop and manage a rolling stewardship and major donor engagement program. Bequest Program Increased bequestor response to the St Vincent de Paul Society s Christmas & Winter appeals Increased levels of engagement and response from current Bequestor relationships Acquisition of new bequest donors and growth of the bequest program Oversee the development and implementation a bequest strategy as part of the overall fundraising strategy for St Vincent de Paul Victoria. Develop and oversee a rolling bequest stewardship program that clearly targets bequest prospects, intending bequestors and confirmed bequestors. Oversee the operational management of the St Vincent de Paul Bequest and Estate Program. Regular Giving Program Increased levels of engagement and response from regular giving donors Acquisition of new regular giving donors and growth of the regular giving program Oversee the development and implementation a regular giving program strategy as part of the overall fundraising strategy for St Vincent de Paul Victoria. Oversee the operational management of the St Vincent de Paul Victoria Regular Giving program.
Grant Writing Program Establishment of a targeted grant writing program for St Vincent de Paul Victoria Identification and coordination of submissions seeking funding for priority Society and conference requirements Plan and establish a targeted grant writing program for St Vincent de Paul Victoria Liaise with the Membership & Development team to identify ongoing and special works funding requirements and distribution of grant opportunity information to conference members. Coordinate the preparation of targeted submissions in accordance with the SVDP VIC grant program schedule. Develop and manage relationships with philanthropic grant makers and private ancillary funds to promote the work of the Society. Key Performance Indicators These will be developed by the Manager in consultation with the incumbent and will regularly be reviewed. FINANCIAL AUTHORITY TBC KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Essential Demonstrated ability to understand the appropriate tone/style for all donor and supporter groups Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of donor /supporter retention activities Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of effective relationship management activities that consider the donor/supporter lifecycle. Demonstrated experience in managing high value relationships within the not for profit sector. Demonstrated experience in keeping up with fundraising best practice Knowledge and a minimum of 5 years experience in marketing, fundraising and/or customer/supporter engagement and retention practices. Attributes Excellent verbal and written communication skills Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines Passion and skill to represent organisational values Ability to work independently or in a team environment as directed by the GM Strong organisational and time management skills including the ability to set priorities, work within time frames and set deadlines Desirable Bachelors or other relevant tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Arts or a related area. Possess functional knowledge or relevant experience with Bequest and Estate management programs.
