ACIP Focus on the third year of the ACIP process. Projects identified for potential funding in 1 st and 2 nd years are advancing toward implementation with a greater degree of certainty. 18
Environmental Work with FAA to make an early determination of level of environmental review required. For new, extended or relocated runways, or any project that may affect an area of potentially significant environmental sensitivity, initiate environmental review process four years before proposed construction. If an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) may be required, initiate process at least three years before proposed construction. For projects requiring a Categorical Exclusion or Environmental Assessment, initiate review at least two years before proposed construction. In all cases, ensure environmental review is completed at least one year before proposed construction. 19
