Family and MWR HAWAII ARMED FORCES RACE SERIES Purpose: Provide Service Members, Families and authorized DoD patrons additional running opportunities to enhance their quality of life and fitness. First Series: 21 Jan, MCCS Kaneohe Bay, King of the Hill 5K 11 Mar, Schofield, Kolekole 10K 01 Apr, JBPHH, Ford Island Bridge 10K Second Series: 15 Jul, Schofield, Army 10 Miler 19 Aug, JBPHH, Hickam Half Marathon 15 Sep, MCCS Kaneohe Bay, Flight line 5K Awards for Top 3 Male and Female Finishers and Top Male and Female in each age group who compete in all three races of each series. 7

Clean Water Unauthorized Parking Impacts Water Quality Parking on grass can cause erosion and dirt tracking on streets USARHAW Policy 190-5, Ch. 4 states no parking on grassed and seeded areas. Unauthorized parking is subject to ticket and/or towing. USAG-HI s storm water permit mandates protection of water quality. Housing Services Office (HSO) Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA) Reminders USAG-HI Policy # 19 addresses the TLA policy If a Soldier turns down any adequate home, TLA is terminated on day 30 Continuing group TLA briefings Please ensure Soldiers bring a copy of all documents for HSO to keep 15
Unaccompanied Personnel Housing (UPH) Furnishings Management Office (FMO) New mattresses Will be installed in various buildings across the installation Priority identified based on age of existing mattresses Unit Barracks Management Representatives will be contacted with dates/details Cooperation is appreciated on installation day 16

Holiday Decorations Resident Friendly Reminders Refer to section 6.17 for decorating guidelines Second story decorations are prohibited on any IPC homes. Holiday Office Closures IPC Offices will be closed 26 Dec 16 and on 2 Jan 17 in observance of the Holidays Wheeler and Ft. Shafter Pools will be closed 24-26 Dec 16 and 31 Dec16-2 Jan 17 After hours maintenance care available for emergency and urgent service order requests 20
IPC Arbor Day Celebration The Scouts were out in force November 4 helping USAG-HI and Island Palm Communities celebrate Arbor Day in Hawaii. Cub Scout Packs 304, 166, and 176 and Girl Scout Troop 283, along with family and friends, joined Britton T. London, Sr., Military Executive Officer, USAG-HI, and Arborist Steve Nimz who let Arbor Day Proclamation readings and tree plantings held at Helemano Military Reservation, Schofield Barracks, Wheeler AAF, Aliamanu, and Fort Shafter. 21

Be alert and aware of your surroundings at all times. Notify the Schofield Barracks PMO (808) 655-5555 or Fort Shafter PMO (808) 438-7114 if you notice anything out of the ordinary. Personal Safety Auto Break-Ins Keep Packages in the Truck while Shopping. Keep doors and truck of vehicles LOCKED. Leave nothing visible in the car. Never leave a GPS system or mount visible. If you must shop at night, always park in a well-lighted area. Avoid overloading yourself with packages Always be aware of your surroundings Keep a secure hold on your purse, handbags and parcels. Don t let others distract you in crowded areas. Your personal belongings are at risk. Do not Respond to e-mails asking for personal or credit card information. Home Burglary Prevention Be extra cautious about locking doors and windows when you leave the house, even for a few minutes. Large displays of holiday gifts should not be visible through the windows and doors of your home. If you are traveling ask a neighbor or the PMO to watch your Government Quarters. 29
