Frm September 2018, Keele University is ffering three bursaries as part f its pstgraduate financial supprt prgramme: 1. The Keele Alumni Discunt is a 20% tuitin fee discunt fr UK/EU students and a 15% tuitin fee discunt fr internatinal students. Students must be taking a taught pstgraduate curse at Keele University t at least 120 credits. The award will be ffered fr sme lwer credit curses prviding ttal credit study within the academic year exceeds 40 credits, full details belw. 2. The Keele Graduate Schlarship is a 500 tuitin fee waiver fr UK/EU students taking a taught pstgraduate curse at Keele University wh attained first class hnurs in their first degree. 3. The Keele Access Schlarship is a 850 tuitin fee waiver fr UK/EU students taking a taught pstgraduate curse at Keele University wh meet certain Widening Participatin criteria. This award is aimed at supprting traditinally under-represented grups t prgress n t graduate study at Keele. Yu d nt have t apply fr any f these awards. If yu are ging t receive ne r mre f the awards listed under the Keele University Pstgraduate Bursary Scheme, we will aim t send yu an award cnfirmatin email, fr each tuitin fees waiver that has been awarded t yu, t yur Keele student email accunt, by the end f yur first semester. It is pssible t receive mre than ne f the awards in this scheme. If, hwever, yu are in receipt f anther schlarship r bursary frm Keele University that is higher than the ttal f any Pstgraduate Bursary Scheme awards t which yu may be entitled, yu will receive the higher value award nly. Hwever, these awards can als be cmbined with the Humanities Masters Schlarship. The Keele Alumni Discunt UK/EU students: The Keele Alumni Discunt is a reductin f 20% ff the ttal tuitin fees fr any taught pstgraduate curse leading t a named award f at least 120 credits at Keele University. The discunt is awarded fr mdular study where ttal credit study within the academic year exceeds 40 credits. N applicatin is required. Where pssible, assessments fr eligibility will be cmpleted by the end f yur first semester, and students wh are eligible t receive the award, will be sent an award cnfirmatin email t their Keele student email accunt. The relevant tuitin fee waiver will be applied against yur tuitin fee recrds by the Incme Office accrdingly. Internatinal students: The Keele Alumni Discunt is a reductin f 15% ff the ttal tuitin fees fr any taught pstgraduate curse leading t a named award f at least Pstgraduate Diplma at Keele University. Eligibility will be assessed prir t enrlment and students wh are t receive the award will be ntified f the discunt being applied n the CAS checklist. Eligibility In rder t receive the Keele Alumni Discunt, yu must fulfil the fllwing criteria: Yu must have graduated frm Keele University (including students wh have cmpleted Keele degrees verseas) with either an undergraduate degree, a pstgraduate award (f at least 120 credits r a full Master s degree) r the Keele Certificate in Cunselling. All Keele graduates are eligible fr cnsideratin t receive the discunt, regardless f their riginal graduatin date. Yu must be registered n, and attending, a taught pstgraduate curse that equates t at least ne year s full-time study at pstgraduate level and leads t a named award f at least Pstgraduate Diplma level at Keele University. Students taking a taught pstgraduate curse at Keele University t at least 120 credits will be eligible fr cnsideratin fr the discunt. The award will be ffered fr sme lwer credit curses prviding ttal credit study within the academic year exceeds 40 credits. Students registered fr a PhD r an MPhil are nt eligible t receive an award. Yu must nt be taking a curse that is partially r fully funded by the Teaching Agency, the NHS r any ther rganisatin/emplyer. Shuld yu be awarded funding during yur study, the award will be cancelled. The Student Finance Pstgraduate Lan des nt affect yur eligibility fr this award. Yu must nt be in receipt f anther Keele bursary, schlarship r grant that exceeds the ttal f any awards yu may receive frm the Keele Pstgraduate Bursary Scheme. In the event that yu are ffered mre than ne f these by Keele, yu will be paid the larger sum nly. 2
Whilst it is pssible t receive mre than ne Keele Graduate Bursary fr cnsecutive study fr tw separate and eligible pstgraduate awards, nly ne fee discunt f up t 20% fr UK/EU students (r 15% fr Internatinal students) can be made fr study twards ne pstgraduate award. Fr example, students registered fr an MA will receive ne bursary fr study leading t the MA, even in the event f there being a gap between study leading t a PG Diplma in that subject and study leading t the award f the MA. Students taking a PGCE curse r the MA in Scial Wrk are nt eligible t receive the Keele Alumni Discunt. If yu are studying n a mdular basis, the discunt will be deducted frm yur mdules pr rata nly after yu have successfully cmpleted study that exceeds 40 credit value in the academic year, and the discunt will be applied t subsequent mdules. Shuld yu withdraw, r be withdrawn frm, yur studies at Keele either permanently r temprarily, the university reserves the right t claim back frm yu the value f any reductin in fees that has already been applied. N further fee reductins in respect f the Keele Alumni Discunt will be made nce yu are n lnger a student at Keele University. If yu interrupt yur studies, it may be pssible t cntinue t apply any remaining reductin in fees nce yu have resumed yur studies. Yu shuld cntact us if yu think this may happen. Yu must have graduated with a first class hnurs undergraduate degree (Bachelrs) frm a UK r an EU university. If yu have graduated frm a university utside the UK, we will require a cpy f yur degree certificate and may ask that yu prvide evidence that yur classificatin is equivalent t a first class hnurs degree btained in the UK. Yu must have been resident in the UK r anther EU cuntry fr at least three years prir t embarking n pstgraduate study. Yu must nt have been resident purely fr the purpse f receiving educatin. Fr the purpses f assessing yur eligibility fr this award, we will nly cnsider the classificatin btained in yur first degree. Perfrmance in pstgraduate and graduate study r secnd undergraduate degrees will nt be cnsidered. Similarly, we will nt cnsider perfrmance in academic study that is cnsidered t be at a lwer level than a degree, r equivalent experience. Yu must be registered n, and attending, a taught pstgraduate curse that equates t at least ne year s full-time study at pstgraduate level and leads t a named award f at least Pstgraduate Diplma level at Keele University frm September 2017 nwards.
