The toys were then sent to each substation to help out a family in need. Each substation chose one family in there area and delivered the toys the week of Christmas. DEPUTIES OF THE MONTH Blessing Norman has been named the Civil Deputy of the Month. Mrs. Norman was hired in February of 2002 in the Civil Division and has remained a loyal employee of the EBRSO since then. Blessing transferred to Accounts Payable in May of 2013. Her positive attitude is contagious and her attention to detail is impeccable. She has managed to learn all aspects of accounts payable within a short amount of time and her efficiency has proven to be a valuable asset for the Finance and Budgeting Department. Corporal Jesse Hale and Corporal Shannon Graham, both of the K-9 Division, have been awarded Detective of the Month. During the month of November, 2013, both deputies made several stops on transport buses commuting the I-10 and I-12 corridor. Two of these stops resulted in locating and seizing large amounts of Controlled Dangerous Substances before reaching its destination, resulting in the recovery of approximately 7.5 pounds of methamphetamine and over 15 pounds of marijuana which were located within the luggage transport compartment of the two buses. We thank these deputies for their loyalty to the East Baton Rouge Parish. Corporal Jimmy Santangelo, of the Pride Substation, has been named the Patrol Deputy of the Month. Corporal Santangelo was hired in August of 2009 in Uniform Patrol. He transferred to Pride in August of 2011 and has loyally served the Pride community since then. On December 15, 2013, Corporal Santangelo made an arrest at a residence on Ruston Drive in relation to a meth lab discovery. In the past year, Corporal Santangelo has had investigations that have lead to the discovery of at least 6 meth labs and has resulted in 12 arrests. Joshua Hebert has been named Corrections Deputy of the Month. Deputy Hebert was hired by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff s Office in June of 2013. In his short time of employment with the EBRSO, Deputy Hebert has demonstrated a great work ethic, has shown a willingness to learn all positions, and he has now taken on the challenge of the shift adjutant position, without hesitation. Deputy Hebert arrives to work every day ready and willing to do his job to the fullest, maintains a positive attitude, and has a great rapport with all of his fellow deputies. Lieutenant Roy Paxton has been named the Administrative and Support Services Deputy of the Month. Lt. Paxton was hired in the by the EBRSO in October of 2004 at the Range and has faithfully served in the EBRSO since then. Lt. Paxton contributes a vast knowledge base of federal laws and weapons, which truly discerns him as an asset to the Firearms Training Division and the EBRSO. His dedication to his position is uncompromising in conjunction with his perseverance for details.

EBRSO CPU and DARE team participated in many different Christmas events this month including the Central Christmas parade and Forest Heights elementary parade. The CPU team also held the Coffee with a Cop event at a local Mc Donald's the community got the opportunity to come out and have coffee and speak with deputies about crime or any concerns they make have.
