Depro Environmental Services Department TO: FROM: Burgess Hanson, City Manager Charles DaBrusco, P.E., Director of Environmental Services DATE: April 26, 2013 SUBJECT: Purchase of Toyota Vehicles for the Utilities and Water Plant Divisions The purpose of this agenda item is to request City Commission approval for staff to purchase three (3) Toyota pick-up trucks for use by staff of the Utilities Maintenance and Water Plant Divisions. The new vehicles will be replacing aged vehicles that are currently requiring very frequent repairs. Staff of the Purchasing Division researched multiple vehicle contracts and recommended three (3) different competitively bid and awarded contracts for staff of the Environmental Services to choose from, namely Alan Jay Automotive Network, Rountree Moore Automotive Group, and the National Auto Fleet Group. The vehicles will be purchased from the vendors with the lowest prices for each type of vehicle. Staff will therefore be purchasing two (2) Toyota Tacoma V6 vehicles from Alan Jay Automotive Network and one (1) Toyota Tacoma 4 Cylinder vehicle from the National Auto Fleet Group. A memo from the Purchasing Manager and copies of the bid documents and vehicle price quotes are attached. The total cost of the three vehicles is estimated at $72,837.82 and will be funded from Account Nos. 401-5020-533-60-41, Automotive Equipment and 401-5030-536-60-41, Automotive Equipment. A total amount of $84,000 was included in the approved FY 2012/13 Budget for the purchase of the vehicles. Staff is hereby requesting City Commission approval for the purchase of three (3) Toyota pickup trucks as described above for the total amount of $72,837.82.
RESOLUTION NO. 2013/ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) TOYOTA V6 TACOMA VEHICLES FROM ALAN JAY AUTOMOTIVE NETWORK PURSUANT TO A FLORIDA SHERIFF S PROCUREMENT AND ONE (1) TOYOTA TACOMA 4 CYLINDER VEHICLE FROM NATIONAL AUTO FLEET GROUP PURSUANT TO A NJPA PROCUREMENT FOR THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $72,837.82.
