7 Meet the BAND Night!!! Friday, August 24, 2018 in the Cafeteria Dinner Served from 5:30 until 6:30 Dinner tickets are just $10.00 each Yes folks, it s that time of year. As we embark upon another great marching season, we invite you to MEET THE BAND Night! This is your first chance to: v Meet the 2018-2019 Winston Churchill Charger Band and Color Guard! v Meet the Band Directors, the Band Officers, the Section Leaders and the rest of the Band! v Meet the BPA Board, and all of the other fun Band Parents! v Check out the Charger Band Spirit Items v Sign up for the many fun-volunteering opportunities! v Enjoy a delicious meal cooked and served by our very own Band Dads & Moms! Funds from this event are used to support the purchases of music, equipment and other supplies needed to make the Churchill Charger Band a great success! Your evening will include:! Memorial bricks are located around the flagpole. Personalized bricks are available for purchase to honor students, teachers, friends, parents, volunteers, teams or anyone you wish to memorialize. It s a great way to leave a lasting legacy at Winston Churchill High School. All proceeds from the sales of the bricks will benefit the WC Band education program and scholarship fund. Parents: These duffel bags come in handy for carrying video/camera equipment and other necessities to games or whenever cheering on the band! Bag Description: This black duffel bag features Churchill Band in red embroidery on the large front zippered pocket and allows for two lines of personalized monogramming on the top zippered opening. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES We NEED volunteers! The success of the band program is dependent on help from our parents. Please look through the list of opportunities. Concessions / Stand Managers Help facilitate concessions stands during events in 3 month increments (Aug-Nov, Nov-Feb, Feb-May) or volunteer for different games/events (football, volleyball, baseball, track, etc.) Crew Help load & unload the band trailer at games and competitions. Help with construction of show props and minor repair of band equipment Chaperones Chaperone students at games, competitions, concerts, & events Uniforms Help Quartermasters with fittings, alterations, braiding hair and issuing uniforms Physician/Nurse Available for medical assistance at games & competitions Hydration Help provide water to the students at games & competitions Pre-Event Food Plans and coordinates pre-game and event meals for band members, band directors, band staff and chaperones, as necessary.
