National Institute of TB & Respiratory Diseases Autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India) Various Activities Performed at NITRD Under Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign (15 th September to 02 nd October 2018) 15 th September 2018 1. Tree plantation was done by the NITRD faculties and other staff members as a part of tree plantation drive to provide clean and green environment in the institute. 2. Soaps were distributed to the staffs and patients at OPD block by the AMS and NS for the hygiene promotion. 3. Potted plants are being displayed in the corridors of the premises and also at the entrance gates. 4. Intensive cleaning of patient care areas with mechanized cleaning equipments (OPD block). 5. Sensitization drives by AMS, Dr. Pravesh Yadav, NS, Dr. Anita Rani Kansal and MSW, Sh. N. Singh for the patients and visitors on importance of safe sanitation and hygiene. 6. Institute has been beautified with the Floral Rangoli. 7. Blue and Green colored waste bins for segregated waste have been installed at appropriate places in the Hospital. 8. Banners and posters for the swachhta awareness of the public have been installed/displayed at appropriate places in the hospital. 9. Buildings are being repaired, painted and maintained in good condition to provide safe and beautiful environment to the patients. (Admin block and Emergency Ward) 10. Manholes and sewer drains are being cleaned with the mechanized cleaning machines.(kitchen block and POB) 11. Overhead water storage tanks are being cleaned with the mechanized cleaning machines to provide clean water for the use of patients and public. (Hostel area) 12. Solar electricity generation system has been installed at OPD and Private Ward block for the conservation of electricity and environment. 13. Swachhta Diwali is being celebrated and administrative building is being illuminated with LED lights. 14. Daily round of the various patient care areas in being taken by team under ANS to ensure best quality of patient care services in the institute and daily report is being submitted to the AMS office for necessary action.

Special Cleanliness Drive was organized with the Volunteers of NGO Sant Nirankari Foundation and Street LED lights were Installed for better illumination on 16th September 2018. 2. Swachhta Pledge ceremony was held for all the NITRD staff under the chair ship of Additional DDG TB, Dr. Chaman Praksh and Honorable Director NITRD, Dr. Rohit Sarin. 2. Tree plantation was also done by the dignitaries as a part of tree plantation drive. 3. Soaps were distributed to the staff by the dignitaries. 4. Potted plants are being displayed in the corridors of the premises and also at the entrance gate. 5. Intensive cleaning of patient care areas with mechanized cleaning equipments. 6. Sensitization drives by Doctors, Nurses and Medical Staff to patients and visitor on importance of safe sanitation and hygiene. 7. Institute has been beautified with the Floral Rangoli. 8. Waste bins for segregated waste have been installed at appropriate places in the Hospital. 9. Banners and posters for the swachhta awareness of the public have been installed/displayed at appropriate places in the hospital. 10. Inspection of the institute as per the Swachhta Hi Sewa guidelines was done by Dr. Manju Bala, DDGM, Ministry Of Health & Family Welfare and the hygiene, cleanliness, safe sanitation and beautification in the institute was appreciated by her.

Detailed daily round of the hospital is being taken by Kaya Kalp Committee under the Chair Ship of AMS Dr. Pravesh Yadav to ensure higher level of cleanliness and better patient care services in the institute as per the SHS guidelines. 2. Gardens and outer horticulture sites are being maintained in good condition for the public. 3. Soaps have been distributed among indoor ward patients and attendants. 4. Herbal Garden with medicinal plants has been opened for the benefit of the staffs members and public. 5. Intensive cleaning of patient care areas is continued with the mechanized cleaning equipment. 6. Sensitization drives by Doctors, Nurses and Medical Staff to patients and visitor on importance of safe sanitation and hygiene. 7. Institute has been beautified with the Floral Rangoli. 8. Deep cleaning of patients toilets facility was performed. 5. Intensive cleaning of patient care areas is continued with the mechanized cleaning equipment. 6. Sensitization drives by Doctors, Nurses and Medical Staff to patients and visitor on importance of safe sanitation and hygiene. 7. Loose telephone wires have been settled properly. 8. Fire safety appliances were checked and staffs are being trained regarding fire safety. 9. Feedback regarding sanitation services have been taken from the patients and visitors for further improvement in the services. 10. Banners and posters for the swachhta awareness of the public have been installed/displayed at appropriate places in the hospital. 11. Buildings are being repaired, painted and maintained in good condition to provide safe and beautiful environment to the patients.

Detailed daily round of the hospital is being taken by Kaya Kalp Team under the Chair Ship of AMS Dr. Pravesh Yadav to ensure higher level of cleanliness and better patient care services in the institute as per the SHS guidelines. 2. Gardens and outer horticulture sites are being maintained in good condition for the public. 3. Soaps have been distributed among indoor ward and OPD patients and attendants. 4. Patient care areas are being beautified with floral rangolis. 5. Intensive cleaning of patient care areas is continued with the mechanized cleaning equipment. (MDR-TB ward no. 3) 6. Sensitization drives by health visitors and Medical Staff for the patients and visitor on importance of safe sanitation and hygiene is being organized at OPD block. 7. Alcohol Anonymous NGO organized a de-addiction drive at OPD block for the alcoholic patients. 8. Old electric switch boards and lights are being replaced with new boards and LED lights in the all patient care areas. 9. Solar electricity generation system has been installed at OPD and Private Ward block. 10. Swachhta Diwali is being celebrated and administrative building is being illuminated with LED lights. 11. Banners and posters for the swachhta awareness of the public have been installed/displayed at appropriate places in the hospital. 12. Swachhta Deep utsav will be organized on 21st September 2018. 13. Inspection of the institute as per the Swachhta Hi Sewa guidelines was done by Dr. Sangeeta Abrol, DDG(O), Ministry Of Health & Family Welfare and the hygiene, cleanliness, safe sanitation and beautification in the institute was appreciated by her.

Sanitary pad vending machines with small incinerators have been installed in the toilet facility of all the female indoor wards to promote Safe Hygiene and Infection Control. 2. Detailed daily round of the hospital is being taken by Kaya Kalp Team under the Chair Ship of AMS Dr. Pravesh Yadav to ensure higher level of cleanliness and better patient care services in the institute as per the SHS guidelines. 3. Sensitization of all the sanitation staffs regarding implementation of proper cleaning practices as per the SHS guidelines was done. Staffs were also motivated for the success of the on going SHS campaign by AMS and MSW, Mr. N. Singh 4. Feed back regarding quality of sanitation services is being taken by the Medical Social Department for the improvement in the sanitation services. 5. Arrangements for the organisation of Swachhta Deep Utsav on 23rd September 2018 at 07:30 PM are being done. 6. Gardens and outer horticulture sites are being maintained in good condition for the public. 7. Soaps have been distributed among indoor ward and OPD patients and attendants. 8. Patient care areas are being beautified with floral rangolis. 9. Intensive cleaning of patient care areas is continued with the mechanized cleaning equipment. (Paediatric Ward) 10. Sensitization drives by health visitors and Medical Staff for the patients and visitor on importance of safe sanitation and hygiene is being organized at Ward No. 10. 11. Health Talk on menstrual hygiene was organized at ward no. 10 by CNE cell and Senior Nursing Officer, Manju Rani Aggarwal. 12. Swachhta Diwali is being celebrated and administrative building is being illuminated with LED lights. 13. Additional banners and posters for the swachhta awareness of the public have been installed/displayed at appropriate places in the hospital. 14. Inspection of the institute as per the Swachhta Hi Sewa guidelines was done by Dr. Chaman Prakash, Additional DDG, Ministry Of Health & Family Welfare and the hygiene, cleanliness, safe sanitation and beautification in the institute was appreciated by him.

Sanitary pad vending machines with small incinerators have been installed in the toilet facility of all the female indoor wards to promote Safe Hygiene and Infection Control and demonstration was given to the Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Sila Dev. 2. Detailed daily round of the hospital is being taken by Kaya Kalp Team under the Chair Ship of AMS Dr. Pravesh Yadav to ensure higher level of cleanliness and better patient care services in the institute as per the SHS guidelines. 3. Sensitization of all the sanitation staffs regarding implementation of proper cleaning practices as per the SHS guidelines was done. 4. Massive cleanliness drive was organized with the help of volunteers from Oriya Samaj and area around the OPD and waste collection area was cleaned. 5. Swachhta Deep Utsav will be organized on 23rd September 2018 at 07:30 PM. 6. Gardens and outer horticulture sites are being maintained in good condition for the public and plantation was done by Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Sila Dev as a part of plantation drive. 7. Soaps have been distributed among indoor ward patients and attendants. 8. Patient care areas are being beautified with floral rangolis. 9. Intensive cleaning of patient care areas is continued with the mechanized cleaning equipment. (ICU) 10. Swachhta Diwali is being celebrated and administrative building is being illuminated with LED lights. 11. Inspection of the institute as per the Swachhta Hi Sewa guidelines was done by Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Sila Dev, Ministry Of Health & Family Welfare and the hygiene, cleanliness, safe sanitation and beautification in the institute was appreciated by her and she also suggested that Ayush Department maybe involved for the treatment of the TB patients.

Detailed daily round of the hospital is being taken by Kaya Kalp Team under the Chair Ship of AMS Dr. Pravesh Yadav to ensure higher level of cleanliness and better patient care services in the institute as per the SHS guidelines. 2. Painting competition on Swachhta HI Sewa was organized at Paediatric ward. 3. Sensitization of all the sanitation staffs regarding implementation of proper cleaning practices as per the SHS guidelines was done. 4. Essay competition on Swachhta Hi Sewa in Hindi was organized and large number of staffs participated in the event. 5. Swachhta Deep Utsav was organized on 23rd September 2018 at 07:30 PM under the chair ship of Director, AMS, NS and NITRD staff and family. 6. Gardens and outer horticulture sites are being maintained in good condition for the public. 7. Soaps have been distributed among indoor ward and OPD patients and attendants. 8. Patient care areas are being beautified with floral rangolis. 9. Intensive cleaning of patient care areas is continued with the mechanized cleaning equipment. (Doctor Hostel). 10. Swachhta Diwali is being celebrated and administrative building is being illuminated with LED lights. 11. Buildings are being repaired, painted and maintained in good condition to provide safe and beautiful environment to the patients.

Detailed daily round of the hospital is being taken by Kaya Kalp Team under the Chair Ship of HOD(HA), Dr. V.P. Myneedu and AMS Dr. Pravesh Yadav to ensure higher level of cleanliness and better patient care services in the institute as per the SHS guidelines. 2. Second time inspection of the institute as per the Swachhta Hi Sewa guidelines was done by Dr. Manju Bala, DDGM, Ministry Of Health & Family Welfare and the hygiene, cleanliness, safe sanitation and beautification in the institute was appreciated by her. 3. Tree plantation was done by DDGM, Dr. Manju Bala as a part of ongoing tree plantation drive. 4. Canteen area was cleaned with mechanized cleaning equipment. 5. Meeting was held with DDGM under the chair ship of Director, AMS, HOD(HA), DNS and Other Senior Staffs and various newer methods for the improvement in the sanitation services and infection control were discussed in detail. 6. Gardens and outer horticulture sites are being maintained in good condition for the public. 7. Soaps have been distributed among indoor ward and OPD patients and attendants. 8. Patient care areas are being beautified with floral rangolis. 9. Intensive cleaning of patient care areas is continued with the mechanized cleaning equipment. (Ward No. - 9) 10. Swachhta Diwali is being celebrated and administrative building is being illuminated with LED lights. 11. Buildings are being repaired, painted and maintained in good condition to provide safe and beautiful environment to the patients. 12. Public lecture on the importance of segregation of general waste for the general public will be organized on 29th September 2018.
