Box #751 - Flemington, NJ 08822 www.flemingtonrotarynj.org Hey Everyone, Meeting Program: The speaker for tomorrow s Rotary meeting (Wed, 2/24) is Laura DePrado. She will be speaking about Healing Plants. This is a regular lunch meeting at Copper Hill Country Club at 12:15pm. Next RCOF Board Meeting: The next board meeting will be tonight, Tues, 2/23/2010 @ 5:45 PM. The meeting will be held at TD Bank on Royal Road in their 2 nd floor conference room. The meeting is open to all club members. Dog Walk Meeting (Wed, 2/24): President Jim has called a Dog Walk Committee meeting tomorrow at 1:30pm following the regular club meeting. The 3 rd Annual Hunterdon County Rotary Soup Cook-Off was held last night (Mon, 2/22) at the H.C.R.H.S. Commons from 5 to 7:30pm. This event continues to grow each year and was enjoyed by all who attended. Fourteen restaurants competed for the title of Best Soup In Hunterdon County. The event was hosted by the Hunterdon County Rotary Clubs, which included Flemington, North Hunterdon, Clinton Sunrise, Lambertville-New Hope and Whitehouse. Event Chair Bob Burgard hopes to provide a preliminary report at tomorrow s club meeting. The winning soups are as follows: First Place: Crab and Corn Chowder presented Christopher Beall of the Lambertville Station Second Place: Tomato Bisque presented by Joe Clyde of the Sergeantsville Inn Third Place: Bistro Chicken and Sausage Gumbo presented by Brit Ash of Cook to Order/South Main Chef Christopher Beall and the Lambertville Station will be able to display the SOUPER BOWL trophy for one year until the next competition in February 2011. A special thanks to the other participating restaurants that included: 55 Main, Baker's Treat, Basil Bandwagon, Beaver Brook Country Club, California Grill, Max's 22 Ristorante, Milford Oyster House, Mom's Restaurant, Mountain View Chalet, Sky Manor Restaurant, and The Garden Gourmet. The event spotlighted Rotary and the service projects of Rotary International in the community and the world. The Haitian Relief effort of Rotary International was demonstrated through the Shelter Box program which provides a large tent, supplies and water purification for 10 persons. This annual event is a community involvement event by the Rotary Clubs of Hunterdon County. The event fights Hunger in Hunterdon with fellowship and great food with all net proceeds distributed to the Food Pantries of Hunterdon County.
