MIDTERM REPORT JULY OCTOBER 2017 DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIALIZATION OF CARED APPLICATION IN ACEH PROVINCE The highest intensity of disasters in Aceh has encouraged all parties, including governments, communities and businesses sector to promote the importance of disaster and awareness risk reduction with quick and appropriate respons to reduce the number of victims and lost of property. One of the most evective approaches is the use of communication and information technologiy that can provide easier access to data and information to encourage disaster awareness and risk reduction efforts. Addressing this issue, Aceh Disaster Management Agency (BPBA) has responded to work together with Prof Stefano Tsukamoto from Osaka University to develop and utilize the Cared Simulation and Application in Aceh. Fig 1. Conducted meeting with Chief Executif of BPBA and BPBA Officers During his first visit to Aceh from July 3 to July 10, 2017, Prof Stefano has introduced the use of Cared applications to various elements in Aceh. Cared application was introduced to BPBA officers. BPBA is committed to train their staffs to operate this application to support the implementation of disaster management in Aceh. Together with BPBA Advisory Board and BPBA Staff, on 4 6 July 2017 Prof Stefano Visit Sabang City, the most western region of Indonesian or known as Indonesian 0 kilometre. Cared socialization was conducted at Sabang Municipal Office, and also in Bappeda (District Planing Development Board) that attended by several Sabang government agency namely, Public Works Agency, Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sabang, Meteorological, Climatological

and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) of Sabang, Department of Industry and Trading, Transportation and Telecommunication Department of Sabang. This activity was welcomed by the Sabang government and related agencies. They hope that Cared Application can help the Sabang government to provide services on Disaster Management and Sustainable development. The government of Sabang City also sent the representatives of several government agencies to attend FGD and Cared training on July, 8, 2017 in Banda Aceh. In Sabang Municipal office, Prof Stefano Tsukamoto gave an online general lecture on Disaster for Osaka University Students in Japan. Fig 2. The head of BPBD and Bappeda Aceh Besar were also welcomed the Cared Programme. Head of BPBD Aceh Besar and staffs and other related agencies representatives are interested and committed to participate in Cared training application held by BPBA on July, 7, 2017 in BPBA and FGD training to introduce the Cared application on July, 8, 2017 in Mekkah Hotel in Banda Aceh. Cared Aplication Basic training Cared's socialization was also done by providing basic training of how to operate and use the Cared application for 25 participants including BPBA Staffs, as well as representatives staff of Health Department of Aceh Province (Health Crisis Center), Indonesian Red Cross, Aceh Disaster Forum, and two Teachers from Sukma Bangsa School in held to BPBA on July, 7, 2017. Then, a briefing of a Cared Application for BPBD in 23 Regencies / Municipalities in Aceh was held in Focus Group Discussion activities at Mekkah Hotel of Aceh on July, 8, 2017. To test the usage of Cared application, on July, 9, 2017 Prof Stefano and BPBA conducted the simulation of Cared Application for 45 Participants including BPBA Staffs, Health Department of Aceh Province (Health Crisis Center), Indonesian Red Cross, Aceh Disaster Forum, and 2 Journalists. To increase the knowledge of disaster for students, on July, 9, 2017, Dean of Science and Technology Faculty of UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh invited Prof Stefano to conducted a public lecture of Cared Applications for 100 students in UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. On 19-21 July 2017, the cared aplication was also socialize to BPBD in 23 District/Municipality in Sabang in the form of BPBA coordination meeting.

Cared application socialize for BPBA Staff To improve the community's understanding on the importance of self-rescue efforts and reporting the disaster situations in small island, tos provide quick information access to the government, BPBA together with Kokam SAR of Muhammadiyah Aceh conducted Cared socialization for 30 village leaders in Aceh Island Sub-district on August, 26, 2017.

Sosilization and introduction of Cared Application for 1000 New Students of University of Muhammadiyah Aceh Prof Stefano conducted another visit to Aceh on 16-23 September 2017, to follow up and introduce Cared's application. It started with a meeting with the BPBA Advsory Board. After the meeting he continued to Pidie District with BPBA advisory board. In Pidie District, Prof Stefano visited the Sukma Bangsa School to provide an introduction to Cared application for students and make consolidation of the use of cared applications for teachers. Take Photo together Then, he visited BPBD Pidie district to introduce Cared application to BPBD Pidie. The BPBP Pidie give enthusiastic response regarding the use of Cared app. On this occasion BPBA advisory board also introduced the Sukma School to BPBD Pidie in the reinforcement of disaster in Pidie, and can make sukma school as the base of cared application in Pidie and doing Disaster Risk Education program in Sukma School. Together with 20 person of PSC (Public Safety Center) team, given knowledge to PSC participants. The PSC team is very interested because the Cared apps greatly fostered their activities for the victim's rescue efforts.

Head of BPBA is very enthusiastic with these activities. Head of BPBA also fully responded to BPBA staff to equipped them with Cared Applications. The meeting discuss about the formulation of the team that will coordinate the use of Cared's application in BPBA and Aceh. This Team is hoped to be a major group in developing Cared's utilization in Aceh. Professor Stefano also received an invitation from the Alumni Association of Master of Disaster Science Studies at Syiah Kuala University to provide a Public Lecture on Communicatoin and Information System in Post Disaster and Introduction of Cared Application.

Take Photo Together Similar remarks were also requested by the Aceh Disaster Forum. The Experts and Management Boards of Aceh Disaster Forum also provided feedback on the use of Cared Applications as a very important application to be implemented in Aceh. In accordance to disaster, the High School of Health Foundation Harapan Bangsa Aceh, requested public lecture of Cared Applications for Health students in the campus. Five students from the Campus are volunteered in the simulation of cared applications in schools. Cared will also develop the concept of triage for medical health. The use of the Triage Concept will make it easier to quickly respond to the victims' help and to provide prompt and appropriate medical assistance and action. To test the use of the concept of triage, in collaboration with BPBA and Dinkes Aceh, a cared simulation was conducted at SMA N1 Peukan Bada Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Universtity of Serammbi Mekkah give respond well to Cared socialization and will discuss it in campus internaly related to the development of this campus application usage. Fig 43.
