Target Audience Obstetricians, perinatologists, nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, obstetrical and NICU nurses, and other professionals providing care to pregnant women and newborns. HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS Conference Description This is a two-day conference with a focus on obstetric emergencies and other current, dynamic and controversial issues in perinatal care. Expert faculty present strategies for identification and management of high risk pregnancies. Topics on Day 1 include obstetrical hemorrhage, cardiomyopathy in pregnancy, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, hypertensive crisis, placenta percreta, legal issues and case studies in fetal monitoring. Topics on Day 2 include maternal drug exposure, neonatal abstinence syndrome, first trimester assessment, clinical applications of perinatal research, twin to twin transfusion, collaborative support of the antepartum patient and reproductive endocrinology. Program Objectives The purpose of the Obstetric Challenges conference is to provide presentations and discussion that promote clinical excellence and improve the quality of patient care. Upon completion of this conference, the experienced professional will be better able to: Describe potential obstetrical emergencies, patients at-risk and management strategies Discuss metabolic complications which impact mother, fetus and newborn Identify management strategies for drug-exposed women and their newborn infants CME Accreditation, Inc. is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians., Inc. designates this educational activity for a maximum of 13.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
