Campus Microfinance Champion Americorps VISTA San Francisco, CA We re hiring a full-time person to get the word out about student-led microfinance to the 4,400 colleges and universities across the U.S. that do not yet host a Campus MFI. Campus MFIs are teams of college students that go off-campus and find people who need help. They spend time and motivate, give basic financial advice, and lend small amounts of money they have raised. We believe campus MFIs are a game-changer for the country because: they offer students a chance to make a real difference beyond traditional community service (like serving meals in a soup kitchen or cleaning up a riverbed) which aren't satisfying to results-driven students they equip students with skills to solve real-life problems they give students real responsibilities that last beyond the academic calendar we have seen campus MFIs make students more socially conscious which positively affects their values, career choices, and civic engagement Lend for America (LFA), a program of The Intersect Fund, is on a mission to bring campus microfinance to every school in the country.
