SPECIAL TRUSTEES NEWSLETTER RECENT EVENTS If you were present for the trials on Saturday, Unfortunately, Grand Aerie procedures 24 th of June, we are sure apparently do not allow this modern you have many questions and concerns. Method of bill payment. The first one would most likely be Has the Aerie lost money or property? The answer is a definite NO. If any members were to take the time to read the Grand Aeries Articles of Incorporation, Constitution and Statutes, you would see a Byzantine method of accounting practices that have no place in 2017. If you really listened to testimony in this area of concern, you would have learned that about ten years ago, the Aeries Worthy President and Board of Trustees saw this problem and created an Office Managers account that allowed the Office Manager to write checks for certain specific reasons. Succeeding Worthy Presidents, including Mr. Boughter s first term continued this practice. It is a fact all checks written on that account and signed by the Office Manager are for payment of legitimate Aerie bills. Many of you pay your monthly bills electronically. You may use a debit or credit card for purchases. This modern method of bill payments creates wonderful audit trails and a record to prove payment took place. The Aerie does not have a credit or debit card, which is too bad, as many purchases must be paid for with cash. An example being, Trustees Spaghetti Night. Trustees purchase the groceries and pay for the items and then turn in receipts for reimbursement. If the Aerie had a debit card, that would be the preferred way to pay for these items. Instead of a pile of paper receipts, an electronic record would exist. SPECIAL ELECTION At the last Aerie meeting a motion was made to elect a new Aerie Secretary and Treasurer through a special election. Grand Aerie expressed some concerns about how this was to take place. To not run afoul of Grand Aerie, the trustees felt it best to postpone until the next regular Aerie meeting. At that meeting, the floor will be reopened for additional nominations and either a vote by voice will take place, or if Grand Aerie desires, a date for a secret ballot election will be set.

SPECIAL TRUSTEES NEWSLETTER NEXT AERIE MEETING Worthy President Jack Boughter has posted We ask that members continue to. signs in the Aerie scheduling the next t support entertainment and dinner meeting for July 5 th at 7 p.m. events as these activities are critical to the financial stability of the Aerie. The Board of Trustees is hoping he will agree to set July 11 th as the time for that meeting. July 5 th is a Wednesday and is Trustees Spaghetti night, Queen of Heats drawing night and Karaoke Wednesday. Needless to say activities that would interfere in a well conducted meeting. By waiting until the 11 th, a better opportunity for Grand Tribunals decisions to be received exists. It also would keep us on the same schedule as the Auxiliary. Additionally, waiting a few more days will allow for Some members to cool down and allow for a properly run meeting. FINAL COMMENTS What has been taking place in recent weeks has placed a strain on our members and employees. Fraternally yours, Gerry Cummings, Chairman Ken Caudill, Trustee Jerry Bear Braun, Trustee Don Hartzog, Trustee John Isles, Trustee JULY ENTERTAINMENT July 1 st - Bill Oxford July 7 th & 8 th - Stageriders July 14 th Bruce & Betsy Mullen July 15 th Rand Harms with K2 Concerns about whether the Aerie can remain July 21 st & 22 nd Desert Rose Band open exist, July 28 th Chris Ellenberger Right now, the Board of Trustees are doing everything we can to keep stability and yet not July 29 th Smash Hit Carnival run afoul of Grands orders.
