CSI LAKSHMANGARH CHAPTER Two days workshop on How to start a Technology Business Incubator School of Engineering and Technology organized 2 days workshop on How to Start a Technology Business Incubator in collaboration with Ixora Tech Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, during 18-19 June, 2018, in ABB Conference Hall. Twelve faculty members participated in the Workshop. Mr. Ranen Das, B.E., P.G.D.M. (IIM K) from Ixora Tech Consulting Services Pvt Ltd was facilitator of this workshop. This workshop was intended to benefit the faculty when an institute hosts an Incubator. There was no registration fee to attend the workshop and a participation certificate was given to all the participants. Formation of CSI Lakshmangarh Chapter Computer Society of India is the first and largest body of computer professionals in India. It was started on 6 March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. It has 72 chapters across India, 511 student branches, and 100,000 members. With consistent efforts of Dr. V. K. Jain, Dean-SET, Dr. Anand Sharma, Assistant Prof., CSE dept. and with the support of faculty, MUST was able to get the approval for establishing CSI Lakshmangarh Chapter in 2018. Mody University of Science and Technology is now a part of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan MUST has been designated as a Participating Institution for Unnat Bharat Abhiyan- a programme initiated by Dept. of Higher Education, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India with the intent of performing development activities by the students of technical institutions in the villages of local vicinity.
SET- MUST Shortlisted for setting up New Gen IEDC under the aegis of NSTEDB, DST, Govt. of India SET, Mody University of Science and Technology, has been shortlisted for final round of evaluation to set up New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (New Gen IEDC) under the aegis of National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. Three faculty members from SET (Dr. V. K. Jain Dean-SET, Dr. Sudhir Y Kumar and Mr. PK Bishnoi) have presented the proposal before National Experts Advisory Committee on 21.06.2018 at Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad. Faculty from ECE Dept., attended Summer Term Course on 5G Communication at MNIT, Jaipur Dr. Rajeev Pourush, Assistant Professor, ECE Department, SET, has attended a summer course on 5G Communication organized by Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, from June 11- June 15, 2018 at MNIT, Jaipur. The objective of the course was to provide the state of the art knowledge in the field of 5G Communication, Modulation Techniques and RF systems. Faculty from CSE Dept., attended training program for ABET-CAC at Baltimore, USA Dr. A. Senthil, Associate Professor in Dept. of CSE has successfully completed the Program Evaluator Training for ABET-Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC). The training was held in Baltimore, USA during 2nd June to 3rd June 2018. There were 40 participants who were selected from all over the world.
Faculty from ECE Dept., attended Workshop on AI and Deep Learning at Bennett University, Noida Mody University of Science and Technology is one of the Lead Partner of a nationwide initiative project on "AI and Deep Learning Skilling and Research funded by Royal Academy of Engineering, UK under Newton Bhabha. University College, London, Brunel University, London and Bennett University, India are collaborators of this project. NVIDIA and AWS Educate, Videoken and Edvantics are industry partners. On the Behalf of Mody University Dr. Sandeep Jaiswal and Mr. Satyajit Anand attended the workshop on AI and Deep Learning at Bennett University, Greater Noida, U. P. during June 5, 2018 to June 7, 2018. The NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute has offered hands on training for developers, data scientists and researchers, who are looking forward to solve challenging problems with deep learning. Visit to IIT Gandhinagar Delegation of faculty members from SET, MUST (Dr. V. K. Jain Dean- SET, Dr. Sudhir Y Kumar and Mr. PK Bishnoi) have visited IIT Gandhinagar to explore about the Research Opportunities, Academic Courses and the Laboratories in the campus. The visit was accompanied by Deputy Registrar of IIT Gandhinagar. Students /Alumni Achievements Dr. Sinnu Susan Thomas, an Alumni of ECE Department, SET, MUST (2003 Passout) was awarded with Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award 2018 by the Honorable President of India at Rashtrapathi Bhavan, New Delhi.
