These changes involve combining the four existing Nampa/Caldwell routes into two routes. In addition, Route 42 will be extended to include the as a stop, and there will be new timepoints for routes 41 42. The service changes were approved by the Valley Regional Transit Board of Directors in September 2017. The changes are designed to improve connections to new developments, increase ridership and enhance connections to key institutions. These service changes eliminate little used route segments and reallocates those resources in order to provide new access to high demand locations More details about the Nampa/Caldwell changes: Routes 51 54 will be replaced by two routes Route 51 East Nampa (CWI Greenhurst) and Route 52 Caldwell Boulevard (Caldwell and Nampa). Route 51 will provide service between the College of Western Idaho and Garrity and south Nampa. The new route will provide two way service along 16 th Street and better access to the WinCo grocery store and the Nampa Gateway shopping center. Service will run all day Monday through Friday between 6:45 a.m. and 7:15 p.m. Service frequency will be every 30 minutes between 6:45 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. with service every hour between 8:15 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Route 52 Caldwell Boulevard connects to Route 51 at 12 th Ave Rd. and W. Iowa Ave and on 12 th Ave S and 4 th St S. The new route provides service along the Nampa/Caldwell Boulevard, including a stop at the Treasure Valley Marketplace. When it arrives in Caldwell, the bus serves a section of south Caldwell before traveling along the Franklin corridor and access to local offices of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and the Idaho Department of Labor, and a popular Veterans Affairs clinic. The Route 42 Intercounty (Caldwell Towne Square Mall) will now stop at the Happy Day Transit Center on Cleveland Boulevard in Caldwell. The rest of the route pathway is unchanged. Route 42 will have new timepoints. The Route 41 Intercounty (Caldwell Boise State) has new timepoints. These changes will benefit riders by providing longer spacing times between the route pathway section shared by both Route 41 and Route 42.
