Health and Safety Training For You Hospice at Home West Cumbria are delighted to be working with Woodward Group to deliver accredited health and safety courses to businesses in Cumbria. Here at Hospice at Home we understand the importance of creating a safe environment for you and your employees. Courses IOSH Managing Safely IOSH Health and Safety for Supervisors IOSH Working Safely NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is the only Chartered body for health and safety professionals in the world. Founded in 1945 and have been registered as a charity since 1962. In 2002 we were awarded a Royal Charter. As the largest health and safety membership organisation in the world, IOSH has more than 40,000 individual members in 99 countries. The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) is a registered charity and the professional voice for environmental health. It sets standards, accredits courses and qualifications for the education of members and other EHPs of members and other environmental health practitioners. NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health The NEBOSH National General Certificate covers the main legal requirements for health and safety in the UK, identification and control of workplace hazards, and the practical application of this knowledge. Who should attend: Managers, supervisors and staff from all types of organisations who need a broad understanding of health and safety issues. Course Content - The NEBOSH National General Certificate covers the main legal requirements for health and safety in the UK, identification and control of workplace hazards, and the practical application of this knowledge. The syllabus is mapped to the National Occupational Standards for Health and Safety owned by ENTO. No previous health and safety knowledge is required but candidates should note the assessment includes a requirement to write a short report. IOSH Managing Safely IOSH Managing Safely [4 days] course is designed for people in supervisory or management positions in all types of organisations, who need a broad understanding of health and safety at work. The aim is to give these managers a knowledge to help implement good practice for health and safety in the workplace. Who should attend: Any person who has any responsibility for supervising or managing people in the workplace or managers/mds of small enterprises. IOSH Health & Safety for Supervisors IOSH Health and Safety for Supervisors [2 day] course is designed for people in supervisory, team leader, chargehand, leading hand, etc. positions in all types of organisations, who need an understanding of health and safety at work. The aim is to give these supervisors a knowledge to help implement good practice for health and safety in the workplace whilst supervising their team and ensuring that their workplace remains safe and their team members are not harmed. Who should attend: Any person who has any responsibility for supervising others in the workplace. The personnel to attend this course are process workers, office workers, support staff, administration staff and any employee in all types of organisations, who need a basic understanding of health and safety at work. Hospice at Home West Cumbria Hospice at Home West Cumbria exists to ensure that the people of West Cumbria receive the best possible palliative and end of life care. It aims to be a hospice without walls providing all the services found in a traditional hospice building but delivering those services in people s homes and in community locations. Services comprise home nursing, lymphoedema treatment and hospice family and bereavement support. Last year: HHWC nurses provided over 11,500 hours of day and night care to those in need. We were the sole provider of Lymphoedema care in West Cumbria. Our family and bereavement staff and volunteers provided over 2200 support sessions for people caring for someone with a life limiting illness. This support continues for as long as needed and can last several years. Hospice at Home West Cumbria must raise over 1 million each year to maintain and develop its services. Only a quarter of this comes from the NHS. The rest must be raised through our fundraising activities.
