7 Credit Hour Course 17 weeks in length Lecture, Lab and Clinical Components Skills Based Approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health COURSE DESCRIPTION Taught by qualified Registered Nurse Instructors Trains nursing assistants to provide patient care as members of the nursing team in varied healthcare setting

HSC-150 At MVCC, You Will Receive 40 Hours of Lab (18 two hour labs) (1 four hour CPR class) 148 Total Hours 68 Hours of Lecture (34 two hour lectures) 40 Hours of Clinical Experience (5 eight hour shifts)
To Successfully Complete this Course, You Must Meet the Attendance Requirements Achieve a Passing grade of 78% Demonstrate Competency in 21 Manual Skills Upon completion, you will be eligible to take the State of Illinois Nursing Assistant Certification Exam *Each individual who passes will be placed on the State Registry for Healthcare Workers. *You must work as a CNA within two years of certification.
What About the Schedule Lecture and Lab will be held at MVCC in Palos Hills. The course will follow the college calendar. Lecture classes will meet on Mon. & Tues. OR Wed. & Thurs. from 1pm-3:15pm for 17 weeks Lab classes will meet on Wed. & Thurs. OR Mon. & Tues. 1pm-3:15pm for 9 weeks. CPR class will be held on Saturday. Clinical Sessions will be held at area Long Term Care Facilities on Saturdays OR Sundays, 6:30am-3:00pm for 5 weeks Study Days will be held every Friday at the high schools from 1pm-3:15pm as arranged by the counselors. Transportation to MVCC will be the student s responsibility.

Dual Enrollment Basic Nurse Assistant Training Program 7 college credits while still in high school Final grade is part of your permanent college record All college policies apply Students pay full tuition; they are not eligible for financial aid Payment plan is available; one time $25 payment plan fee 4 payments (Dec., Feb., Mar., Apr.) 1 st payment due December 2017 Students must maintain a G.P.A. of a 2.0 to prevent any limitation to their ability to receive financial aid once he/she enters college as a first-time, full-time student. BNAT may be a great program for you, but dual enrollment might not be the best format for you.
