Health and Social Care Introduction to training for the health and social care workforce First Response Training offers a wide range of courses to guide workers in the health and social care sector along the training pathway, from induction right through to higher level and special focus training. We work with hundreds of clients from within the health and social care sector, covering a wide range of specialisms, and deliver over 4,000 care training courses each year. We work with numerous local authorities throughout the UK, as well as providing training to NHS trusts, residential care and nursing homes, home care providers and care recruitment agencies. All courses are mapped to the relevant standards, such as the Care Certificate for entry level, or the National Occupational Standards for Health and Social Care and the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) for more experienced workers. Training will help providers meet the fundamental standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and is carefully developed to promote choice, dignity and safety. Training is delivered at your premises or venue of your choice, generally for a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 12 delegates, and we can also offer options for external accreditation, where required. We are an approved centre for national awarding bodies such as Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC), IOSH and accrediting body Advantage Accreditation. We can also offer Train the Trainer and bespoke solutions, so please call us to discuss your needs. Creating safer working environments Trusted Provider Established in 1997, we are proud to have a team of highly qualified trainers operating 7 days a week throughout the UK. Holistic Solutions Direct provision, distance learning or even online training? Our courses can be tailored to meet your every requirement. Quality Assurance With a curriculum team and your very own account manager, we guarantee a high quality, consistent and reliable service.

Level 1 Core Awards Our range of Level 1 Core Awards help organisations to meet the National Minimum Training Standards for healthcare support and adult social care workers, as developed by Skills for Care and Skills for Health. Bookings are for a minimum of 2 courses during one morning or afternoon session or for 4 courses over one full day. These courses will be updated to reflect the requirements of the new Care Certificate, which will replace the Common Induction Standards from March 2015. Level 2 Core Awards These awards represent a progression from the Level 1 range to offer more detailed training and information in the key, mandatory subject areas. They are mapped to the relevant QCF units and contribute towards the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Special Focus These courses support health and social care workers delivering specialised support and care in a range of settings and specialisms. They are mapped against the appropriate QCF units and can contribute to a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Clinical Skills & These courses support health and social care workers to understand and prepare to take part in clinical activities. First aid courses will deliver the skills and knowledge needed by those working in the health and social care sector. Health & Fire Safety These courses deliver the health and safety and fire safety skills and knowledge needed by those working in the health and social care field. Mental Health & Wellbeing Older people or those receiving care can be more vulnerable to mental health problems, while care workers themselves can also be particularly affected by work-related stress, depression and anxiety. This means it s vital that organisations in the sector invest in mental health training for their staff to increase awareness and understanding of mental health problems and proactive techniques to promote wellbeing. We have a range of training solutions available from distance learning to half-day and full-day courses and MHFA England accredited programmes.
