Purpose Cancer Council Tasmania s (CCT) mission is to minimise the incidence and impact of cancer on all Tasmanians. CCT is dependent on community and business support to help fund vital programs in cancer research, support, prevention and advocacy. CCT s portfolio of events includes a range of iconic and enjoyable fundraisers that companies and other organisations can get involved in. Fundraising events and activities include Relay for Life, Daffodil Day, Australia s Biggest Morning Tea, Girls Night In, The Think Pink Ball and the Unite in Yellow Breakfast. Events Coordinator Role The Events Coordinator role is responsible for managing annual fundraising events in the north of the state including the Think Pink Gala Ball and the Unite in Yellow Breakfast and assisting with other events such as Daffodil Day, Australia s Biggest Morning Tea, Relay for Life and community fundraising. The role is integral for providing sustainability for Cancer Council Tasmania services provided in Tasmania.
About the role Position title: Department: Events Coordinator - North Marketing and Fundraising Award: SCHADS Level 4 Status: Hours of Work: Location: Reports to: Permanent part-time 22.8 hours per week (0.6 FTE) Launceston Senior Team Leader Community Engagement The primary responsibilities will be to: Co-ordinate annual fundraising events in the North of the State including the Think Pink Ball, Unite in Yellow Breakfast and Daffodil Day Stalls. Assist with other fundraising campaigns as required including activities relating to Daffodil Day, Australia s Biggest Morning Tea, Community Fundraising, Relay for Life and other activities as required. Build on relationships with existing fundraising supporters and donors. Contribute new ideas for fundraising; identify, develop and initiate suitable opportunities to achieve maximum profitability. Maintain relevant databases and other records. Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Fundraising team, contributing to newsletters and other promotional materials as required. Represent CCT at community events. Produce reports on Fundraising events and activities, objectively reviewing the success and the achievements against agreed targets. Undertake other administrative tasks as they occur in a small office environment. Undertake other duties as and when directed by the Senior Team Leader Community Engagement. Regular weekend and evening work will be involved. Some intrastate and interstate travel required.
Selection criteria Essential 1. High-level experience in event management and fundraising. 2. Commitment to Cancer Council Tasmania s mission and values. 3. Demonstrated capacity to multi-task and to manage tight timeframes. 4. Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills. 5. Demonstrated experience with working in a close-knit, dedicated team environment. 6. Ability to identify and develop innovative marketing and fundraising opportunities. 7. Flexibility with regard to out of hours work from time to time is required. 8. Current drivers licence Desirable 9. High level Microsoft Office skills or equivalent program 10. Excellent data entry skills 11. Experience and willingness to work with volunteers 12. Qualifications in Event Management, Fundraising and/or Marketing.
