OBJECTIVES MET THIS YEAR Salary Study completed, and all three counties funded the first of a 3-year plan to move all employees into the new pay scale Enhanced partnerships with local groups involved with literacy efforts Region-wide Community Read completed (Cracked, Not Broken programming on mental health and suicide prevention) Readers Advisory and Customer Service training for all staff Teleconferencing capabilities and privacy options for the public available at each main library

IMAGINATION CAFÉ YEAR 3 Our partnerships with the Wilkes County Master Gardeners and Local Restaurants brought locally grown fresh produce to the children. Literacy activities were offered daily along with lunch.
ECLIPSE PARTY The shadow of the moon fell across Wilkes County on Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, during the Great American Solar Eclipse, as more than 900 visitors attended the Solar Eclipse Party presented by the Wilkes County Public Library and STAR Science Technology Advanced Resource, Inc.
