Pediatrics Residency Program

Pediatrics is where you can make a huge impact. Not only do you make a difference in the life of an individual child, but also on everyone whose life revolves around that child. From the Program Director Pediatrics is truly one area of medicine where you, as a doctor, can make a huge impact on not only on the life of one individual child, but also on everyone whose life revolves around the child the parents, grandparents, siblings and friends. It is a specialty which is not for the faint-hearted. It can be tough, physically and emotionally, but the rewards are immense on so many levels. With the SingHealth Residency Pediatrics Program, we will be able to equip you with the expertise and knowledge to be a well-rounded Pediatrician. We offer access to all the major Pediatric sub-specialties, medical and surgical, in both acute hospital and ambulatory settings. Furthermore, with a dedicated Continuity Care (CC) clinic, you can follow-up cases longitudinally where you get to see patients progress from their initial acute illness during their in-patient stay, through post-discharge follow-up. You will also have the opportunity to provide anticipatory guidance and practice preventative medicine with developmental follow up of the younger ones. Dr Raveen Shahdadpuri Ishwardas Program Director Pediatrics For your training, you are matched to a mentor for the duration of your Residency to nurture and develop an Individualised Learning Plan [ILP] to maximise your learning and training needs. Hear from our Residents The structure of teaching, the devotion of the mentors, the collegiality of my peers and the smiles of the kids has made my training in the SingHealth Pediatric Residency meaningful. My pediatric residency has inspired me to use my research background to ask and investigate clinical questions that have the potential to impact the future of children s health. Dr Jason Lam Shang Leen Pediatrics Resident Duke-NUS Alumnus A huge part of Paediatrics is to manage parents expectations and that can be challenging at times. The program has certainly equipped me to be a better communicator to overcome such challenges, not forgetting having dedicated faculty members who never hesitate to give advice during times of difficulties. My experience in Singhealth has been very fulfilling so far, not just in terms of learning but also the friendships that I have forged with my residency mates. Dr Loh Sin Wee Pediatrics Resident National University of Ireland (NUI Galway) Alumnus
