Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Benefiting Patients Wish List
Charity aims The charity s primary aim is to support services that directly, or have the potential to, benefit patients of the Royal Surrey. This is principally through the provision of medical equipment, improved/enhanced facilities and education, learning and development that are not normally provided by the hospital through NHS funding mechanism. In exceptional cases funding is provided to support medical posts for a defined period when the patient benefit can be recognised, such as trialling a new procedure or contributing to the initial costs of establishing a new service at the hospital. Your donations keep this support going Without your help we would be unable to purchase equipment and other facilities that go beyond NHS provision. Ultimately, our aim is to improve the patient experience here at the Royal Surrey and provide the best care anywhere. We have over 70 trust funds which form the Royal Surrey s charity, including the current appeal and St Luke s Cancer Centre. We also have a General Fund which can be used in any area of the hospital where it is needed most at any given time. Supporters donate for many reasons Those who want the best possible care for their friends and family. Individuals and businesses who wish to give to support their community and give regularly. Those who have received a good service and wish this for others. Family members often donate in memory of a loved one as a thank you for the care received. 2
Can you help your local hospital by making a donation towards our Wish List? Would you like to make a donation towards a piece of equipment in a specific department of the Royal Surrey? We have created this booklet to enable our supporters to do just that. We have visited our wards and departments and asked the clinical staff what they would wish for to benefit their patients. A donation of 5 will help buy books for the Children s A&E department. A gift of 100 could be used to purchase two reminisence boxes for patients with dementia. Perhaps you work for a company who may like to choose us as Charity of the Year? A fundraising effort with your colleagues could raise enough money to purchase a bladder scanner for patients on Hindhead ward. Are you a member of a community group such as Rotary or a Golf Club? A year-long fundraising initiative may enable us to supply monitors for the Endoscopy unit. We welcome all donations, no matter how small. Mighty oaks from little acorns grow THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! 3
