REPORT FROM THE Lorilei White The 2015 2016 Supply Chai Maagemet Associatio Otario Board of Directors has had a productive year ehacig the associatio s growth ad goverace. It has bee my pleasure workig with this team of idividuals i my first year of two years as Chair of the Board, ad I am pleased to report o some of our accomplishmets. Below are some highlights the Board of Directors have worked o i the past year: A visio ad missio the etire federatio stads behid. I have had the opportuity to serve o the federatio-wide Steerig Committee that is curretly collaboratig to develop a shared Visio ad Strategic Pla to guide our collective activities across the coutry. This will allow the federatio to maximize our efficiecy ad ehace collaboratio as well as more effectively promote the professio ad the associatio atioally. A more comfortable ad moder learig space for studets. This term, the Board of Directors decided to use a portio of our ivestmets to update ad moderize the space ad techology i our traiig room. Reovatios bega after the 2015-2016 fiscal year ad cocluded i summer 2016. We are very satisfied with the ed result ad the reviews from studets ad istructors have bee exceptioal. A refreshed ivestmet policy ad pla. The Fiace ad Audit Committee led a robust RFP process ad the Board has selected a professioal istitutioal firm to maage the associatio s ivestmets. This shift allows for a whole-portfolio view, ad reduced fees. CHAIR The developmet of a Ethics Committee. With the passage of By-Law 4 at the 2015 AGM, a stadig Ethics Committee was established. This Committee is resposible for reviewig ad determiig the appropriate respose to ethical complaits received. This Committee is the result of our cotiued efforts to uphold the stadards of membership, the CSCMP desigatio, ad the Code of Ethics. The creatio of a Goverace Committee. A Goverace Committee has bee formed to advise o matters relatig to goverace structure ad processes, to support Board traiig ad developmet, performace maagemet ad successio plaig. A ehaced awards program. The Awards Committee will begi to recogize a member of the associatio each year with the Risig Star award. The recipiet of this award is oe that demostrates characteristics of leadership, passio, iovatio ad creativity early i their supply chai professio. If eligible, this member will the be omiated for the federatio wide Ascedat award. Further, this year we have begu to recogize the top three studets from the CSCMP graduatig class at the covocatio ceremoy, with a award they ca proudly display to complemet their certificate. PRESIDENT AND CEO S REPORT Kelly Duffi This has bee a excitig year at Supply Chai Maagemet Associatio Otario (SCMAO). I the 2015-2016 fiscal year we pursued opportuities to give our members deeper value i both membership ad educatio. I this report I d like to highlight some of our iitiatives ad the work that the Board of Directors, the SCMAO staff, ad I are proud to have accomplished. Promotig the Professio & the Desigatio Buildig awareess, ehacig our reputatio ad promotig the professio is our members umber oe priority, ad last year we took may steps to build our brad. We reached out to employers that advertised job postigs o the SCMAO Career Listigs page, ecouragig them to iclude the CSCMP desigatio i their applicat requiremets. At the ed of this fiscal, 25% of postigs asked for the CSCMP i their applicat requiremets. It has sice rise to 34%. We lauched a pilot Employer Program ad developed tools to promote it i the marketplace, deliverig a icreased value to employers with over 5 members i the associatio. At the ed of this fiscal year we had 22 employers who had siged o to the program, ad at time of reewal, 100% had reewed. Throughout the moth of March, SCMA Natioal placed three iserts i the Globe & Mail s Report o Busiess with a focus o Caadia Supply Chai success stories. We complemeted that with three advertisemets i the Globe i the fall, featurig the high-level professioals speakig at our 18th Aual Coferece, followed by the ames of our 2015 graduates, to profile the sigificace of the professio. We advertised our educatioal programs ad corporate o-sites throughout the year i several publicatios, some of which icluded Iboud Logistics Educatioal Supplemet, the Mississauga Busiess Times, PurchasigB2B, MM&D, ad the Caadia Immigrat Magazie. Other outreach activities icluded: Cotiuig to develop relatioships with bridgig programs for ew Caadias ad atted evets o behalf of the professio icludig the Cross- Cultural Professioals Associatio of Caada (CPAC) Career Coferece & Job Fair, the Career Educatio & Settlemet Immigrat Fair ad the Iteratioally Educated Professioals Coferece. Attedig the Huma Resources Professioals Associatio Coferece, atteded by 3,000 HR professioals, icludig recruiters. Educatio ad Accreditatio The completio of the Certified Supply Chai Maagemet Professioal (CSCMP) desigatio is a major milestoe for our graduates, ad sigifies the completio of three years of hard-work. Recogizig the level of this accomplishmet, much time ad eergy wet ito maitaiig the itegrity ad promotig the value of the CSCMP desigatio. SCMA Otario is coscietious to esure that oly those who are i good-stadig have the right to use the CSCMP desigatio. A Diploma brochure ad advertisemet were created as tools to promote the ewly accredited program ad its educatioal beefits. Sice May 2015, our programs are ow eligible for the Immigrat Access Fud loa, providig ewcomers with opportuity for a loa, ad the opportuity to pursue their studies. The Healthcare Supply Chai Network (HSCN) program was expaded to iclude a additioal 8-week course ad oe-day workshop, addig more breadth, kowledge ad skills to better prepare program graduates. Membership Quality & Value We cotiue to use the feedback received i our 2014 Membership Value ad Egagemet study to ehace the value of membership i SCMAO. This year we exteded the Seaso s Pass program to iclude ulimited access to webiars, ad further expaded free offerigs to members. The Board also elected to hold dues at 2013 rates for aother year. We also focused o our SCMAO member commuity. A ew membership package is ow mailed to all ew members, highlightig member beefits ad upcomig evets. New members ames are ow published mothly i the ecoect, to welcome ad itroduce them. We developed the Regioal Ambassador program, lauched i May 2016, which has logtime members cotactig ew members to welcome them ito the associatio ad oriet them to membership. Ad, the SCMAO Member Directory was sigificatly populated to provide members with the opportuity to reach out to their associatio etwork. To guaratee value for members across the provice, we visited regios outside the Greater Toroto Area with 10 member evets from Timmis ad Sudbury to Saria ad Ottawa. These icluded a plat tour held i Kitcheer, ad a Breakfast Series Lecture hosted i Markham. A Professioal Developmet day, ad eveig etworkig were also offered i four cities across the provice. With these efforts, we were pleased to see oteworthy improvemets i a member satisfactio survey we coducted i December 2015. e-learig platform that eables professioals from aywhere i the provice to pursue Professioal Developmet at their ow time ad pace. Through our corporate o-site program, we have customized semiars to a growig roster of private ad public sector employers. Post-Secodary Our studet program supports desigated represetatives o uiversity ad college campuses i promotig the associatio through clubs, career fairs ad evets. Ad for pathways ito our programs, we completed a advaced stadig agreemet with Coestoga College this year, addig to several agreemets already i place. Natioal established a reciprocal agreemet with Athabasca Uiversity s Executive MBA program the first of its kid to offer advaced stadig towards a post-graduate degree from a accredited post-secodary istitutio. Commuicatios Our SCMAO website has bee redesiged as part of movig to a federatio-wide sigle domai, reducig cotet duplicatio, improvig brad, ad leadig to better search egie optimizatio. The site has also bee moderized i its aesthetics ad fuctioality. I additio, improved iformatio techology ad commuicatio with members is beig supported by trasitioig to the federatio-wide Portal for member services ad evets registratio. Developed ad implemeted procedures to esure that oly those who have eared ad maitaied their desigatio are able to call themselves a CSCMP. Published a (C)SCMP registry o the SCMA website for idividuals to verify if a professioal has the right to use the desigatio. Reached a Advaced Stadig Agreemet with Coestoga College, which provides easier access to SCMAO programs- icludig the Certified SCMP Program. Reached a Natioal reciprocity agreemet with Athabasca Uiversity s Executive MBA program, which for the first time allows holders of the CSCMP desigatio to receive exemptio credits towards a Master s degree- decreasig the time to complete by up to six moths ad reducig tuitio by approximately $9000. Athabasca EMBA s also receive advaced stadig to the Certified SCMP Program decreasig time to complete by seve moths ad savig approximately 35%.
