.5t 5-1 1 Abstract Susitna Hydroelectric Project A Historic and Policy Perspective Eric Marchegianil! Alaska Power Authority 334 W. 5th Avenue Anchorage, Alaska 99501 (907) 279-6611 The presentation will include a brief history of past studies. Those studies assessed a number of possible developments within the Susitna Basin, including over 20 potential dam sites along the Susitna River. The proposed development of dams at the Watana and Devil Canyon sites will be discussed. The progress of the environmental studies over the past four years, development of previous studies, and the current FY85 Study Plan will be reviewed. In addition to the historic perspective, a brief descri ption of the Power Authority's ongoing settlement process will be presented. This will include a discussion of the workshops, issue papers, and the Instream Flow Relationships Reports (IFRR) which are a part of this year's FY85 Study Plan.
