This weekend the Blazer Battalion conducted its annual Ball. Major General Vincent E. Boles, author of 4-3-2-1 Leadership was the guest speaker. Other distinguished guests included Colonel Rowe, LTC Dave Wood, and Miss UAB Melanie Mae Roberts. The Cadets gave live skits, conducted their first grog ceremony, and maintained an, active atmosphere with local area disk jockeys and photography. UAB Blazer Battalion Run 10 APR 2015 ADVERTISEMENT HEADING 11th Annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month 11th Annual Sexual UAB Blazer Battalion Run was scheduled to occur on 10 April, although due to inclement weather the event was canceled. The event was to be held to promote a nationwide recognition of the 11th annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Following the cancelation, a great breakfast was provided by Campus Ministries, which gave both the battalion and the ministries a chance to brainstorm for the future. Expiration Date: 00/00/00

OUTREACH EVENTS 11 APR LENDING A HELPING HAND, ONCE AGAIN!! Assisting One Roof in Project Homeless Connect. With One Roof we are providing assistance in all areas of services being offered today, such as, Health services, Legal Services, and being Runners volunteering as needed. Great Job Guys!! One Roof looks forward to working with such a hard working group of individuals again in the future.

March & April EDITION Volume 1, Issue 6 VIP Visit The female Blazer Cadets had one on one time with one of the US Armies premier Officers, MG Price. MG Price answered questions and toured the facility. As a graduate of UAB, she was inducted into the Blazer Battalion Honorary Alumni Association in 2015. General (R) Charles Krulak! General (4 star) Krulak is the President of Birmingham Southern University, an affiliate of the ROTC Program at UAB. Discussion focused on how to expand the program and focus on retaining high caliber cadets who have the appropriate background and GPA to become our Nation s Leaders.

NEW HONORS The University of Alabama at Birmingham, for the first time in its history, has now approved Commencement and Graduation Honors for all ROTC Cadets! From here on, all newly commissioned Lieutenants from UAB ROTC will be able to stand and be recognized at UAB Graduations! Page 9
