THE OFFICIAL NEWSLETTER FOR THE SENIOR CITIZENS OF ROMULUS August 2018 Motor City Casino Trip Tuesday, August 21, 8:15 a.m. Romulus Seniors are visiting the Motor City Casino for a cost of $13 per person and the Casino provides $15 in credit upon arrival. Seats are limited, so call the Senior Center to reserve your spot today. Detroit Princess Lunch Cruise Thursday, August 2, 10:00 a.m. $50 per person Cost includes transportation, lunch, entertainment and cruising on the Detroit River. The ship will be returning to the dock by 2:30 pm. Please call the Senior Center to make your reservation. SAVE THE DATE Wednesday, September 26th, 9:30 am to 2:00 pm The Annual Senior Center Health and Wellness Fair is open to Romulus residents of all ages. Surrounding communities are also welcome. If you are planning on getting a flu shot, you can call to preregister to avoid the wait. Join us and receive free blood pressure checks, hearing tests, vision tests and much more. Please call for more info! Senior Beauty & Personality Pageant August 29, 11:00 a.m. Mark you calendar for a special event the Senior Beauty Pageant! Everyone is invited for this special luncheon. We will be serving spaghetti & meatballs, salad, rolls, and dessert. After lunch we will start the program. Men & Women are welcome to Dress to Impress. Contestants will then be asked a series of questions relating to three categories: Elegance, Grace, and Dignity. Rooms for rent at the Romulus Senior Center The Romulus Senior Center is a great place to celebrate any special occasion from baby showers to family reunions and even wedding receptions! Rooms are available any day of the week and can hold up to 120 people. Arrange for a caterer or use the on-site kitchen. Call today! Need Food? Low income residents are eligible for free commodities each month. A variety of food is provided by the Emergency Food Assistance Program.
