Donald Fitzgerald Scholarship Recipient must be earning Early Childhood education degree. based on 2.5 GPA and full time enrollment Earl R. Blackwell Endowed Scholarship Restricted to High School students, enrolling full time, must demonstrate financial need, and must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Eleanor Burlage Endowment Scholarship made available by Eleanor Burlage, a retired Crystal City school teacher. Recipient must show continued academic progress toward a degree and demonstrated financial need. Elizabeth Hoyt Clark Memorial Honors Scholarship Recipients must be enrolled in the Honors Program of Jefferson College. Application: Students who are interested should speak with the Honors Program Coordinator for application. Fenwick Memorial Recipient must be planning to major in engineering. Applicants must rank in the top 50% of their graduating class and be a Jefferson County resident. Preference is given to a Crystal City High School senior majoring in electrical engineering. Festus-Crystal City Rotary Club Scholarship available from a fund established by the Festus-Crystal City Rotary Club. Recipient must be a graduate of Crystal City, Festus, Herculaneum or St. Pius X high schools; St. Pius X graduates must reside in the Festus, Crystal City, or Dunklin school districts. Applicants should have a superior scholastic record. Francis Duke Cortor Jr. Memorial Scholarship Preference will be given to a second year student planning to transfer to Missouri Baptist College. Additionally, preference is given to a student who is a veteran or a descendent of a veteran. Recipient must demonstrate financial need. Glenda Poullain Scholarship Scholarship has no restrictions. based on Full or Part time enrollment and minimum of 2.0 GPA. Harshaw Memorial Recipient must show academic strength. Preference will be given to a graduating senior from DeSoto High School. If all criteria are equal, financial need will be considered. Hazmat Responders & Workers Scholarship Recipients must be Jefferson County high school graduates who are enrolled full time. Must be majoring in Fire Science, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, EMT, or Paramedic degrees.
Homeless Youth Initiative Restricted to Jefferson County Homeless Youth. Certificate programs preferred; other programs must be approved by Homeless Youth scholarship committee. Litton Scholarship Preference will be given to a full time student who is a resident of Jefferson County, aspiring to major in History. Applicants must have demonstrated financial need. Hugh C. Roberts Jr. Endowment Scholarship Recipient must be transferring to Washington University after Jefferson College and must have a minimum of a 3.5 GPA. Recommendation letter from one of the student s instructors is required. Jack Cronin Memorial Baseball Scholarship Recipient must be a baseball player from the American Legion Post 283 baseball team. Recipient must be on the Vikings Baseball Team., but must apply for renewal Application: Selected by the Jefferson College Scholarship Committee and Viking Baseball Coach Jack & Janet McLard Scholarship Recipient can be either full time or part time. Scholarship can be used for tuition, fees, books, campus housing, or a meal card. Scholarship has no restrictions. James Jay Sybert Memorial Scholarship Recipient is chosen by a Jefferson College Automotive Technology Instructor and may not be awarded every year. Funds can be used towards the purchase of class supplies and is not restricted to tuition only. Students must be enrolled full time and majoring in the Automotive Program. Students must demonstrate financial need. James Yelton Sr. Memorial Scholarship Recipient must be enrolling full time, have a 2.5 GPA, and going into the theatre area of study or communications course work. Students must demonstrate financial need. with a minimum 2.5 GPA and full time enrollment Jane Houser Endowment Scholarship Eligible to non-traditional students from Jefferson County who have earned a diploma or GED/HiSet. Students must be enrolled full time or part time and must demonstrate financial need. Can be used for tuition, books, or fees. with a 2.5 GPA Jefferson County Democratic Club Recipient must be a Jefferson County student. Student must have earned a GED/Diploma, must be enrolled full time, and must demonstrate financial need. Jefferson County Rotary Club Rotary Clubs of Arnold, DeSoto, Festus-Crystal City, High Ridge, and Hillsboro have established a scholarship for one resident of Jefferson County who plans to attend Jefferson College. The recipient must be a non-traditional student, single parent, returning student, who is seeking re-entry training for the workforce. Application: Jefferson College Scholarship Committee will recommend two applicants and Jefferson County Rotary Club will select the final recipient
Jefferson County Sheriff s Department Scholarship This scholarship is provided by the Jefferson County Sheriff s Department to students studying in the field of Criminal Justice. One recipient shall be pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice and the other shall by a student in the Law Enforcement Academy. Must be a resident of Jefferson County, have financial need and be making satisfactory academic progress. Jefferson County Veterans Memorial Committee Scholarship Recipient must be a Jefferson County high school graduating senior who is a child or grandchild of a Jefferson County veteran. Recipient must enroll on a full time basis (at least 12 credit hours per semester) at Jefferson College beginning with the fall semester of the year of graduation. MCCA Scholarship Applicant must be a returning student who has earned at least 30 credit hours and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Applicant must also demonstrate financial need. M.C. Matthes Jr. Memorial Scholarship Endowment Scholarship established by Judge and Mrs. M.C. Matthes in memory of their son, M.C. Matthes, Jr. Recipient must be a graduate of Hillsboro High School who ranks in the upper 25% of their graduating class and has demonstrated financial need. Mercy Hospital Jefferson Health Occupations Minority Scholarship Available to minority Jefferson County high school graduates enrolling full time and pursuing a degree in any health occupation career offered at Jefferson College. Application: Recipients are selected by the Mercy Hospital Jefferson Foundation Peggy Alexander Endowment Scholarship Recipient must be a Jefferson College student. Richard Bell (Starlight Chorus) Music Scholarship Recipient must be a high school graduate majoring in vocal music who has a 3.0 GPA. Student Financial Services will forward the names of 3 qualified candidates to the Jefferson College Music Department who will then select the recipient. with a 3.0 GPA Skyler McDonald Memorial Scholarship Recipients must be a Jefferson County resident. Spirit of St. Louis Barbershop Chorus Scholarship Restricted to high school graduates with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. Recipient must be a male vocal music major who is selected by the Jefferson College Music Department. Application: Music Department will notify the scholarship committee of the recipient Twin City Area Optimist Club Scholarship Restricted to Jefferson County residents with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Wes Griffith Memorial Scholarship Recipient must be out of school for one year maximum who is enrolling full time (12 or more credit hours), demonstrating financial need. Preference is given to students with Culinary Arts as their declared major but not restricted. -no restrictions West Family Book Scholarship One recipient must be a Jefferson College student, who is a resident of Jefferson County and a parent who is responsible for a minor child, either through custody or child support. Recipient must demonstrate financial need. Second recipient must be a Jefferson County resident, but can be any student, even those without financial need. with a 3.0 GPA Dr. William R. Todd Memorial Scholarship Recipient must be a permanent resident of Jefferson County who is graduating from high school, and has demonstrated academic promise. Applicants should be active in church and community activities, and should plan to study in the art and sciences.
