CFBC s missin is uniting peple, rganizatins and philanthrpy t create a thriving cmmunity fr all. We accmplish ur missin by accepting gifts fr endwment, investing them and awarding grants frm the investment incme. Purpse All grants awarded by the CFBC are t imprve the quality f life in Bne Cunty, Indiana by cntributing t the develpment f each cmmunity and enabling citizens t reach their full untapped ptential. The purpse f these grant guidelines is t help applicants understand CFBC S funding fields f interest, award sizes and types f grants, applicant eligibility, prpsal requirements, deadlines and timelines, as well as expectatins fr final reprting. All applicants shuld read these guidelines in their entirety befre applying fr a grant; in turn, we pledge t read all qualified prpsals in their entirety. What CFBC Funds Generally, grants are made t supprt the fllwing fields f interest: Arts and Culture - Effrts that enhance and supprt the develpment f quality prgramming and services thrugh visual art, literature, music, theatre, film and dance etc. thrughut Bne Cunty. Cmmunity Develpment - Effrts that build strnger cmmunities that take cllective actin and generate slutins t cmmn prblems; including ecnmic, scial, wrkfrce, animal welfare, envirnmental and cultural change. Educatin - Effrts that prvide educatinal pprtunities that lead t successful and lasting utcmes fr Bne Cunty residents frm birth thrugh adulthd including special cnsideratin fr adult literacy. Health and Human Services - Effrts that ensure Bne Cunty residents are healthy and well. Elderly - Effrts that enrich the lives f lder adults. Yuth Develpment - Effrts that help yuth ages birth t 18 years ld; including special cnsideratin fr ecnmically disadvantaged yuth. Additinally, CFBC is interested in Supprting 1. Effrts that address the rt causes f clearly defined needs in Bne Cunty such as eliminating the cycle f pverty. 2. Effrts with specific gals, bjectives and indicatrs with which t measure effectiveness. 3. Effrts that fster a cllabrative spirit, partnerships and innvatin amng varius rganizatins, agencies and individuals serving Bne Cunty. 4. Effrts that benefit r serve a large number r percentage f Bne Cunty residents. What CFBC Des Nt Fund 1. Grants t individuals. 2. Plitical campaigns r attempts t influence the legislature r any ther gvernmental bdy except in situatins where the award is used t prduce nnpartisan analyses, study results and research data. 3. Internatinal travel, first-class air fare; luxury accmmdatins; alchlic beverages and hspitality fr purpses ther than thse directly related t meeting prgram bjectives as defined in the prpsal. 4. Event spnsrships, banquets and fundraisers, attendance t cmpetitins, missin trips and cnferences. 5. Expenses r activities that have r will have taken place prir t the earliest ntificatin date as stated in the timeline belw. 6. Requests frm religius rganizatins t prmte r teach religius dctrine. Types f Grants CFBC May Award Capacity Building Challenge Matching Operating Prject/Prgram Seed mney One-time funding t bst an rganizatin s capacity t fulfill its missin including funding fr: Organizatinal capacity such as: strategic planning, marketing, bard develpment, fundraising cnsulting. Prfessinal capacity such as: certificatin prgrams, fundraising schl curses. Functinal capacity such as: equipment updates/purchases, database purchase and training, emergency repairs. Funding that is cntingent upn the grantee achieving a designated gal. Funding that is cntingent upn the grantee fundraising an agreed upn dllar amunt. CFBC may ccasinally cnsider perating supprt fr an rganizatin which has demnstrated a stable histry but needs special assistance due t circumstances beynd its cntrl; an perating prpsal must include a plan with reasnable gals fr sustainability. Funding fr a specific prject r prgram, especially expansin r step-up effrts. Funding t start a new prject/prgram r initiative in the cmmunity. Eligibility Grants are made t rganizatins which serve Bne Cunty and are defined as 501 (c) (3) public charity and 509 (a) (1) and must be used fr charitable purpses as defined by sectin 170 (b)(1)(a). Awards are made withut discriminatin as t age, clr, race, religin, sex, disability, veteran status r natinal rigin, and nly t eligible recipients that d nt unlawfully discriminate n these same criteria. Award Size & Frequency CFBC generally ffers ne-year grants between the amunts f $2,500 and $10,000. Larger grants and multiyear awards may be cnsidered. Requests fr grants thrugh the cmpetitive cycles are limited t ne prpsal per rganizatin per calendar year (EXCEPTION: Special Initiative Grants such as the 2018 Capacity Building Initiative). CFBC assumes n bligatin r cmmitment t prvide additinal supprt t the applicant. The CFBC will review the letter f inquiry and ntify yur rganizatin if yu are invited t submit a full prpsal. 6. If yur rganizatin is invited t submit a full prpsal, a link will be prvided by CFBC t yu t cmplete the applicatin. 7. Fr the full prpsal, yu will be required t uplad these dcuments (full prpsal narrative, prject budget, financial statements, bard rster and letters f supprt, if applicable) described belw. 8.
