IEEE Standards Education A cooperative effort of EAB and the SA. A portal with State-of-the Art material on Standards Education, including freely-available tutorials and case studies.

Education about Standards Standards are mentioned in the ABET program criteria but use of technical standards in most curricula is sparse. To support goal of promoting the integration of standards into academic programs, the Standards Education Committee offers minigrants of $500 to students (and $300 for faculty mentors) for graduate or capstone design projects with an industry standards component. 2009: 45 submitted/28 approved 2010: 29 submitted/17 approved Applications came from students in all IEEE Regions, except Region 9.

Workshops and outreach on Standards Education Workshops on standards education are demanded by the membership. Joint IEEE-China National Institute of Standards (CNIS) Standards Education Workshop in Beijing, May 2010 Standards Education Workshops presented at MELECON 2010, April in Malta and at the Region 8 Student Branch and GOLD Congress, August in Belgium.
