Statement of Purpose Contents as set out in Schedule 3, The Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009. Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust provides integrated hospital and community services. We provide local health services including community services, to people in Lambeth and Southwark, and specialist services to patients from across south London, south east England and further afield. As one of the largest trusts in England and Wales we see over a million outpatients every year, over 80,000 inpatients are admitted and there are over 850,000 patient contacts in the community, our emergency department has about 180,000 attendances. We employ over 15,000 staff and work in partnership with the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Biomedical Sciences of King's College London and other higher education institutes to deliver high quality education and research. Guy's and St Thomas' is part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), a collaborative of King's College London, Guy's and St Thomas', King's College and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trusts. 1. Adult and children s community services are delivered from 24 community clinics and other community settings, including GP surgeries and people s homes, across Lambeth and Southwark. The Trust s managing headquarters serves as the registered location for children s community services as part of the Evelina London Children s Hospital (ELCH). The legal status of the provider. Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust was formed in July 2004. The Trust has all the powers of an NHS foundation trust as set out in the National Health Service Act 2006, subject to the terms of its authorisation. The Trust s principal purpose shall be the provision of goods and services for the purposes of the National Health Service in England.
