Call meeting to order, Welcome, Appointment of Time Keeper a. ICC Chair Evelyn Valenzuela calls the meeting to order at 2:17 p.m. b. Rolando Delvalle of Salsa Club motions to appoint Dominique Franceschi of International Cultural Exchange Club as Time Keeper for today s meeting, seconded by Jorge Martinez of BTOC. Motion passes with unanimous consent of those present. 2. Roll Call & Check In/Club Reports 1. ICC Chair i. Evelyn Valenzuela 1. No reports. 2. ICC Vice Chair i. Looking for new Vice Chair. ii. Rolando Delvalle of Salsa Club motions to appoint Diana Alfaya Brito of Math Club as the new ICC Vice Chair, seconded by Dominique Franceschi of International Cultural Exchange Club. Motion passes with unanimous consent of those present. 3. ASCC Treasurer i. Lina Tsvirkunova 1. Please remember to attend every meeting in order to be eligible for club funds and funding requests. Also, please be aware of deadlines to submit paperwork for funding requests. 4. ASID i. Jennifer Glynn? Deborah Goodin? 1. ASID has gone through their new by laws. They are organizing a group to go to the design center on May 1. 5. BTOC i. Jorge Martinez 1. BTOC s first meeting was earlier today. They are having a professional mixer on April 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. They will also be having a Managing your Academic Life workshop on February 24 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Building 9 Room 307. Additionally, they have changed their name to Community FIRST.
6. Career Club 7. Computer Science Club i. Kris Bliss 1. The officers of the club will be meeting today. 8. Digital Arts and Animation Club i. Marco Marciel, Gaz Davis 1. They are currently working out their meeting schedule for the semester and are working things out. 9. Drama Club i. Greg Newton 1. Their first meeting of the semester will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the small theater. 10. DREAMers i. Lynn Anchet 1. DREAMers first meeting was last week. Nothing else to report. 11. EOPS i. Susan Ambriz 1. They will be having a meeting on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. 12. Glee Club i. Shereen Sabet 1. Shereen is the new ICC Liaison. Glee Club is going to have completely new officers and they have new openings. 13. ICE i. Dominique Franceschi 1. They will be meeting every other Mondays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Their first two themes will be India where they will learn a Bollywood routine and England where they will have a Knights of the Round Table event. Their first Film Night will be February 26; they will be showing a Bollywood film. 14. Math Club i. Diana Alfaya Brito 1. Math Club will be meeting every other Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the back of the STEM Center. They are going to an Infinite Possibilities conference in March and will be getting funding through STEM/MESA. There is a conference coming up on February 26 that is $5 for students. They are continuing their research from last semester. They are hoping to fundraise $1000 this semester. 15. Performing Arts Club i. Laron Sanders 1. The former president stepped down, so Laron will most likely be filling in. 16. PTK i. Ivan Evans 1. Phi Theta Kappa Beta Zeta Nu is meeting on Mondays at 3 p.m. at the back of the Learning Center. Nothing else to report. 17. Photon Masters i. Tom Leddy 1. Nothing to report. 18. Pre Health Society i. Pre Health has officially deactivated their club for this semester. 19. Pre Nursing Club
i. Tara Flesner 1. They have a new president this semester because Tara will be going to nursing school next semester. Their first speaker of the semester is a nurse practitioner. They are planning on bringing by all sorts of healthcare professionals this semester, especially since Pre Health has folded. 20. Robotics Club i. Sannuj Singhal 1. Nothing to report. 21. Salsa Club i. Rolando Delvalle 1. Their first meeting of the semester will be tonight outside the dance studio. 22. SHPE 23. TSAC 24. WISE 3. Hearing of the Public a. Krishna and Alex i. They are hoping to start a Journalism Club and potentially incorporate photography. They will bring informative integration on campus. They will help people by letting them know of all the resources on campus, and they ll include clubs in their writing. b. Nicole and George i. They are forming the Business and Entrepreneurship Club in order to help students figure out which direction they would like to take in business and related fields. They will provide information and hear from professionals. 4. Beating the Odds Community Name Change, Community FIRST (5 minutes) a. BTOC is changing their name to Community FIRST to prevent confusion between BTO program and Community F.I.R.S.T. b. Dominique Franceschi of International Culture Exchange Club motions to accept this name change, seconded by Greg Newton of Drama Club. Motion passes with unanimous consent. 5. Giving Tree Competition Update (10 minutes) PTK a. Gerald Morlidge distributes the top three prizes to the clubs that donated the most: i. 3rd place Computer Science Club is awarded $50.00 to the bookstore. ii. 2nd place Math Club is awarded $75.00 to anywhere. iii. 1st place Robotics is awarded $100.00 to anywhere. 6. Funding Request (5 minutes) a. Phi Theta Kappa Nevada/California Spring Regional Conference ($1150) i. Phi Theta Kappa will be sending 8 students to this conference. Registration is $125 per student, bus fees are $16.50 per student, and they are renting 3 rooms for $99 a night, for a total of $1150. ii. Tom Leddy of Photon Masters motions to approve the full amount for
Phi Theta Kappa to use at their conference, seconded by Rolando Delvalle. She will be sending the map to club advisors, presidents, and Inter Club Council representatives. 8. ICC Meeting Times Spring 2015 (10 minutes) a. ICC Meeting times are listed on the bookmark. Listed on the bookmark attached to the document. One change: ICC meetings are at 2:15, not 2:30 as listed on the bookmark. 9. Feedback, Open Forum, Future Events a. If a club would like funding, the funding request form is on the ASCC website. Additionally, if a club chooses to fundraise, they can receive a fundraising match from ASCC for up to $250 per semester. 10. Adjournment: Next Meeting February 24 th, 2015 a.
