King Date: 3.2018 JOB SUMMARY Under the general directin f the Health Infrmatin Management Leadership, the HIM Analyst is respnsible fr wrkflw develpment, dictatin system cnfiguratin and develpment, reprting develpment and implementatin, innvative applicatin deplyment and supprt, change dcumentatin, educatin fr prviders n dictatin functinality, and frnt-endspeech training, ptimizatin, issue reslutin and quality audits. The HIM Analyst is respnsible fr the functinal prcessing f the department databases and includes prcess identificatin, redesign, user training, dcumentatin, queries, reprts and macr develpment. This psitin is respnsible fr wrking with patients fr amendments and prviders f UW Health fr any crrectins r administrative clsures f incmplete dcumentatin. The cmpletin f the electrnic medical recrd is identified thrugh hspital plicy and mnitred thrugh the EMR sftware supplied by UW Health ensuring all state, federal and hspital regulatins are met. Significant technical skills are required fr staff t perfrm the functin f analyzing and mnitring incmplete dcumentatin fr active and inactive UW Health prviders. The incumbent rutinely wrks with ther supprt services, patient care unit manager and physician leadership t prblemslve and crdinate an accurate and cmplete electrnic medical recrd, with Infrmatin Services in the technical management f hardware and any sftware. This psitin is respnsible fr the crdinatin f training and quality assurance fr activities perfrmed within this sectin, prviding training t new staff, assisting in the planning and develpment f training materials, assisting in the develpment and implementatin f quality assurance prcesses, serving as a resurce t staff and assuming respnsibility fr staff cverage in the absence f the HIM Supervisr. The individual will anticipate business wner needs with a mind-set based n fundamental knwledge f the system and the rganizatinal infrastructure (UWHealth) t recmmend slutins that enable enterprise gal achievement. The individual will retain current certificatins in the primary systems and applicatins as well as prviding crdinatin acrss multiple teams t deliver slutins fr the enterprise. The incumbent will supprt and cllabrate with medical faculty, clinical staff and administrative supprt staff in patient care, day-t-day business peratins, revenue cycle as well as teaching and research activities. The individual will cllabrate with a wide variety f members thrughut the enterprise, including new partners as identified. Develping and maintaining excellent rapprt with these cntacts thrugh written and verbal cmmunicatin and cllabratin is essential t accmplishing the bjectives f this psitin and the gals/strategic plan f the UW Health enterprise. Data analysis prvides infrmatin and supprt t departments bth internal and external t HIM cncerning quality dcumentatin, dictatin, self-editing ptimizatin and integratin f the electrnic medical recrd, and is expected t identify strategies t enhance the cntributin f HIM services t the rganizatin. The incumbent is respnsible fr dictatin system management, setup and maintenance f management prtal, and establishment f new prcesses t btain infrmatin. The incumbent will ensure quality dcumentatin using frnt-end-speech by cmpleting quality audits f the entire narrative and assciated data t prtect patients, caregivers and rganizatinal integrity cnsistently. The incumbent will wrk with the Management and ITS technical teams t develp and implement prcess imprvements t wrk flw and t sftware prgrams. The incumbent is respnsible fr database creatin and maintenance, tracking reprts and spreadsheets and ther sftware updates as determined by ITS technical teams. The HIM Analyst may participate in a 24X7 n-call supprt rtatin t meet the critical clinical and business needs f the rganizatin. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Applicatin Develpment and Supprt Serve as the technical expert fr the applicatin which includes Crdinates and supprts full cycle implementatin, testing, applicatin develpment, nging ptimizatin and stabilizatin f applicatins fr UW Health and cntracted partners. Assists in ensuring timely deliverables f high quality wrk. Acquisitin and applicatin f new technical skills as driven by the business needs r technlgy advancements Crdinate Infrmatin Services resurces acrss numerus teams t supprt applicatin implementatin, upgrades and maintenance/supprt. Educate prviders at varius level f the rganizatin t determine dcumentatin needs, analyzing their dcumentatin

practices and prvide educatin regarding the best dcumentatin tl fr the individual. Perfrm dcumentatin quality audits fr prviders utilizing frnt-end speech recgnitin. Address frnt-end-speech technical issues and cncerns as they arise and determine glbal slutins. Leverage crss-functinal relatinships and requirements gathering expertise t partner with vendrs, such as electrnic health recrd, dictatin system, and electrnic dictinary applicatin and technlgy slutins and assciated prpsals inclusive f technlgy and applicatin design.
