1. Introduction of KOICA Cambodia Office 1.1 Summary of KOICA ㅇ Established on May 1 st, 1991. ㅇ Agency for taking charge of government level grant aid ㅇ Promote relationships between Korea and developing countries through supporting their development 3

Introduction of KOICA Cambodia Office 1.2 KOICA Cambodia Office ㅇ Opened in 2003 ㅇ Moved to this current location in December of 2011 (Phnom Penh Tower 12F) ㅇ Including the head of the office, Dr. Shin Euicheol, there are a total of 14 Korean staff, and 11 Cambodian staff members working at the office. 4

4. Major grant aid 4.3 Korea Overseas Volunteers(KOV) ㅇ KOV are sent overseas after a 4-week pre-departure training, followed by 8-week in-country training ㅇ around 80 volunteers have been dispatched 16

4. Major grant aid 4.3 Korea Overseas Volunteers(KOV) ㅇ Areas - Education : Korean language, arts, pre-school and physical education - Health sector : nurses, medical doctors - community development 17

Major grant aid 4.3 Korea Overseas Volunteers(KOV) ㅇ Soksabay : The KOVs who have been dispatched to Cambodia Have also organized a volunteer group among themselves, called Soksabay, which means happiness in the Cambodian language. They gather once a month on weekends or holidays and visit local areas to engage communities in medical and educational activities. 18

4. Major grant aid 4.3 Partnership with civil society, or NGOs - Have been supporting 61 NGOs, so far - In 2012, supports 9 NGOs 19

4. Major grant aid 4.3 Partnership with civil society, or NGOs One Body One Spirit offers vocational training for disabled people in electronics, carpentry and agriculture, so that they can financially support themselves 20

4. Major grant aid 4.3 Partnership with civil society, or NGOs Cambodia Neighbor aims to improve their life quality by operating a school, miraero school. Through this, we hope these children s future can become brighter and more hopeful. 21

Conclusion 5.1 Aid by KOICA Cambodia Office Country Partnership Strategy(CPS) accords with Cambodia s National Strategic Development Plan(NSDP) The office generates synergy in projects through active cooperation with private partners The office has its own volunteering project group, Soksabay 22
